"Wonderful truck and it was still free"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Replace u-joints at 270,000.

Has a seat cover.

Replaced clutch at 293,000.

Just started needing valve seals.

Paint is faded but, still looks really good.

Came with no A/C.

Brights come on whenever you turn on the headlights or the blinkers.

General comments?

Most of the horsepower is still there. Zero to sixty is no problem. Great vehicle.

Still likes to run with the big trucks.

Beats my brother in laws 1992 4wd Toyota. Starts everytime and doesn't die. I've even had the whole truck in the air repeated times on a desert road with no problem. The valve covers haven't had to be taken off yet. The original owner never had any problems with it either. It still gets 18-20 miles a gallon. I know on the stock drive train that it has at least 75,000 miles left. Over time I am going to totally rebuild it. I will still keep everything I take off because, it still works, so why junk it. I will never get rid of this truck. Look out.

True True!!! My dad had an 82 B1600, the Southern African version, but it is still solid, 24 years later, too amazing for such an old vehicle. Its great!
