2000 Mazda B4000 SE 4.0 liter from North America

Summary:

Excellent value for a small Pickup Truck

Faults:

Idler pulley bearings for serpentine belt froze (warranty repair)

Intake manifold gasket leak - major repair cost.

Speed sensor on differential failed.

Oil pressure sending unit intermittent especially in temperatures below 70 F, okay once engine warms up.

General Comments:

I love the layout and convenience of the plus cab.

The A/C is always cold and efficient.

The ride is very stiff and you know you are in a truck.

Recent electrical problems make me nervous about keeping it much longer.

Gas mileage is okay (avg 18 MPG), but could be better.

Keep the truck, don't sweat the electrical gremlins unless they stop you from driving it. My 1994 has had them come and usually go (except the cruise), nothing that has ever left me stranded. The truck is solid and can be a good "extra" vehicle for you that will last on up towards 200,000 miles.

2000 Mazda B4000 SE cab plus 4.0L V6 from North America

Summary:

Surprising zoom zoom zoom in a 4 door truck

Faults:

Nothing besides normal wear and tear.

The braking system and tires that the manufacturer uses on this truck are weak, but easily upgraded.

General Comments:

This truck has lots of power, and handles well for its weight.

The model I have is very comfortable, and driver and passenger friendly.

I have had no mechanical problems, and I drive a paper route 6 days a week.

I have put 43,000 miles on this truck in 1 year, and I have been completely satisfied with it.

Only fault is bad gas mileage, but any extended cab truck with a big V6 wouldn't do any better.

I would recommend this truck to anyone and everyone.

You will be hooked if you ever drive one.

I have never experienced any stall outs or sudden engine dying. Must be a fluke in the computer. Possible bad gas?

The only problem I have had with mine is if you don't get it to start on the first try, you need to turn the key off and wait a few minutes. Then restart the vehicle. The computer needs to reset and make adjustments for the raw fuel in the system. (sans flooded engine) Otherwise its never failed me.
