2010 Mazda Demio 13 C 1.3 petrol from Sri Lanka
Summary:
Cheap, economical, and reliable. A true japanese car
Faults:
Very few and not significant for a car that's been in use for 15 years.
Belt issues, the brakes wore out around 120,000 kilometers, and the bumpers aren't the best quality. I had to replace the rear bumper after being rear-ended (it was still a minor collision, but the bumper cracked).
Minor rust issues on the front and rear doors, but that's common when living in a humid climate.
General Comments:
I love it.
Since I've owned it, I've never had a major mechanical problem. The engine runs perfectly and is practically untouched. It's a car that's perfect for everyday use, a utility vehicle with very good build quality. Fuel consumption is incredibly low for a gasoline car. Yes, the engine is small (1.3 liters), but the fuel consumption is almost the same as a diesel of the same size (4.5 L/100 km).
For those who use the car daily, it's extremely useful and offers the best a car in its segment can offer: reliability and economy. Spare parts are easily available and inexpensive.
What I value most about the car is its mechanical strength; it's designed to travel many miles without major problems. With the proper care, it's a car that will tend to appreciate more and more over the years. I don't expect more from it; so far, it's performing wonderfully for me.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
