1990 Mazda MPV review from North America
"Best car I've ever owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Very little problems.
4x4 stops working in 1996, then starts working again in a year and still works today.
In 2002, the clutch had to be changed.
Radiator hose blew 2005 on the 417 highway.
Alternator overloads and burns all circuits in early 2006.
General comments?
This has been the best car I've ever owned. I've had it since 1992 and it still runs better than my other automobiles. Its manual, 4x4 and has a boosted suspension.
There is very little I can say about this car that is negative really. I've pushed this car to the limit for years and it always pulls through.
Negative aspects:
- 3 doors rather than 4
- Back seat is very heavy and hard to remove
- Chugs gas pretty fast, its no diesel : (
Other funny/strange facts:
I like to call this car a self healing vehicle. Why? Because it self heals with no service somehow. In 1996 the 4x4 went out and did not work for about a year. Then mysteriously, it began to work again. This year the alternator overloaded, and it toasted many of the circuits, including the radio. A few weeks later, all the circuits gradually started working again, which left me in shock and awe. This is just a few things that have happened. This car is the best car I've ever owned, bottom line, if you find one, you won't be disappointed.
