2002 MG ZT 190+ 2.5 KV6 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Excellent value for money!!!

Faults:

A week after purchasing the car the fuel pump packed in which was fixed under warranty... No problems since, very reliable...

General Comments:

I love this car but my expanding family means that I need something with a bit more room for children.

This car's handling is excellent, very point and shoot and is at it's best on open country roads, although it is also very comfortable on the motorway.

The KV6 2.5 engine is very responsive and the gearbox very close... even better after the K&N panel filter fitted.

MPG not too bad considering the size of the engine.

Tyres about £150 per corner for Michelin Pilot Sports 225/45/18.

Loaded with dual zone climate control, 6 disc changer in the boot (standard on the +), Xenon headlamps, half leather/alacantara sports seats and very large sized boot.

An excellent British car which is sadly no longer made.

2002 MG ZT 160+ 2.5 V6 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Self indulgence on wheels

Faults:

Nothing so far.

General Comments:

Lovely car to drive. Feels safe on the road and goes around corners as if on rails.

Very smooth pick up from the V6 engine and happy to glide along at modest speeds when you want to. You do need to get the revs up a little more than I had expected to get really brisk acceleration, but then it really can fly. Have sacrilegiously used it as a tow car for a folding caravan and just returned from a 3000+ mile jaunt around Europe. It coped with this effortlessly, but was cautioned by the police in Germany when doing about 70 mph!

The climate control was also a godsend in the very high temperatures abroad and at home recently.

It is rather thirsty (mid - high 20's at best I would say) and the insurance is group15.

However a real treat and touch of luxury after several mundane cars.

If you can afford it, want something that has performance and a touch of luxury and looks a little different have a look at one - you could do much worse.

What a shame Rover left it so late in the day to start building cars like this and they won't be built any more.

2002 MG ZT 180 2.5 V6 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

A fantastic looking car that has put fun back into my life

General Comments:

I just love this car.

I have always bought large rear wheel drive cars that had a focus on comfort, (older) Rover, Volvo, Mercedes and Jaguar's, so the front wheel drive MG with tight sports suspension was quite a change.

But the looks caught my eye and I had to have a test drive... it made me smile from ear to ear.

The MG has a heritage that you can still feel in the build quality and ride. It's British and I love that!

Enough power to give a thrill and a beautiful growl from the finely tuned exhaust, and the cornering, not one of my other cars could get around like this machine.

The MG ZT is quite rare in New Zealand, and people have stopped in their track to look at it.

Definitely turns heads.

I look forward to waking up in the morning... so I can get in and drive the MG for another day.

Reviewers comments are absolutely-spot-on! The ZT Sports Auto is superb. Once behind the wheel, I never want to get out of it! Last of the true "drivers-cars" (Increasing in value too).
