2004 Mitsubishi Colt Sport 1.5 SPORT from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Road test on normal (rough) roads before buying

Faults:

On delivery left hand door would not open from inside, rectified at dealer.

Wrong passenger seat fitted -incorrect trim. New seat on order.

General Comments:

Sold the car within four months, due to unbearable ride quality, suspension crashing over minor bumps in road.

Loud tyre roar on motorways, both these faults made worse by the fitting of extra low profile 195/45 tyres on the sport model.

Unpleasant course engine, did not liked to be revved, excessive engine noise when cruising, not an ideal motorway car.

Plenty of interior space with ample leg room in rear.

2004 Mitsubishi Colt inform extra pack 1.3 petrol from Greece

Summary:

Not sure yet

Faults:

Very noisy. I am not sure if this is engine noise or exhaust noise. I personally like the noise (sounds like a sport car)

Thick windscreen pillars. Very Very annoying at left turns.

The rear view is also not very good you should always consider the side mirrors.

Suspension makes a bad noise on cracked roads. I will have to repair it very soon.

Some irritating crackles from the interior.

General Comments:

There is room for everyone in this car. AMAZING and is only 3.87m long-GREAT.

The handling is quite good.

The level of equipment is high even in the cheaper models.

Looks nice and solid from the inside and outside.

Excellent fuel economy.

I am not sure about the reliability of this car a lot of noises from the first 2 months.

Maybe everything is repaired in my next service.

Bad noise from suspension must be a general problem for new colt. I had one in Turkey. I went to service and even though suspension is not a warranty part, regarding to a service announcment, they changed the suspesion tower immediately, sound disappeared.

Yes, I agree with the previous comment; I, too, had the same noise from the suspension in Istanbul, Turkey, and the service stopped it immediately.
