1989 Mitsubishi Lancer GL review from Philippines
"A budget car that gives you passion in driving"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
A 16 year old car that still rocks. I drove it hard, but maintains it well. I pamper it with synthetic grade engine oil, replaced the stock 13" tires with a six spoked, size 15" of a Mitsubishi Galant V.R. version. steering became hard, but nonetheless drivable. it has good A/C cooling when the freon is sufficient. (i replaced the R-12 type with the more ozone-friendly 134a) and it works perfectly fine. It can still surprise newer cars with bigger engines with its (sure-footed driving) 150kph+ on the newly rehabilitated & spanking North Luzon Expressway. fuel return on long trips are still impressive 13km/liter. I gas it up with shell-Velocity. I got it from my cousin for 110k. I don't have plan to sell it in the near future.
General comments?
See to appreciate. it has nice Pioneer stereo with 4 6x9 speakers. (no amps) but a good whiff of bass sound when playing RnB music. Momo steering wheel, Illuminated Type "R" pedals, 3"inch Autogauge tachometer and a free flow mufflers that roars like a "Sarao" jeepney makes it a more sporty looking sedan than it ought to be.
