2002 Nissan Altima S review from North America
"This car was a piece of junk"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I bought the car at 92,000 miles for a decent price, couldn't argue.
Next thing I know, about a week later, the check engine light comes on, I bring it back to the dealership, the catalytic converter was shot, and got sucked up into the engine. Happened a second time, and the second time they rebuilt the engine.
Ran pretty good up until now at 105,000 miles. I started losing oil, and ran like crap. I was told by another mechanic that the oil was mixing with the gas, the car was running rich, it ate away the seals, the rings, and I've got a loose pistons now.
I recommend not ever buying a 2002 Nissan Altima, they're pieces of junk.
General comments?
Other than mechanical problems, when operating correctly, it drove great, very comfortable, good sound system, plenty of room, and lots of trunk space.
