1993 Nissan Bluebird SSS 2.0 ? from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

A performance car for the younger driver

Faults:

Starter motor seized at 160 000 km and unfortunately it was very difficult to find a replacement, and the one found was very expensive.

Fuel pump failed at 190 000 km.

Driver's side interior light switch failed at 190 000 km.

General Comments:

This car has a number of design flaws. For example, when the key is in the ignition, an internal alarm sounds as soon as a door is opened. This is VERY annoying.

The doors lock automatically when driving and do not unlock when the ignition is off; another irritating feature.

Fuel consumption is poor for a modern 2 litre car.

Internal air control is non-intuitive and difficult when fresh air is wanted.

However, the performance is smooth, responsive and powerful.

1993 Nissan Bluebird SSS 2.4 L EFI from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Luxurious quick go-kart - expensive to fix

Faults:

Crank angle sensor leaked oil and needed replacement - caused the engine to misfire and overheat.

Speedometer registered a speed when stationary causing the addition of false kilometers.

Air conditioner exchanger needed replacement.

Fuel pump seized.

Electric windows and central locking slowed and failed to work intermittently.

General Comments:

Exceptional performance and comfort for a luxury car - handles like a go-kart.

As the kilometers reach 200,000 things started to need replacing. Unfortunately it costs 3 times as much for Nissan parts than any other Australian distributed parts from other manufacturers.

1993 Nissan Bluebird LX 2.4 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

A wolf in sheep's clothing

Faults:

Absolutely nothing!!!

Just had regular services!

General Comments:

One previous owner - fully Nissan serviced.

Swapped over to ULX-110 high performance oil with no problems - meant to offer better wear protection.

When looking for a new car it was a toss up between a Holden VS Commodore and the Bluebird won hands down.

Definitely like the power when I put my foot down.

1993 Nissan Bluebird LX 2.4L EFI from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

A high performance bargain

Faults:

Nothing really. It's been perfect.

General Comments:

A nice car to drive with a really powerful motor. The car has a very good acceleration and top end. Handles almost like a sports car. Good for long trips, high speed overtaking etc. The engine always has plenty of power in reserve, the car is just so much fun to drive.
