Early days and impressed


Nothing yet - I have just taken delivery of a Juke. Very impressed.

General Comments:

Fit and finish appears a bit light weight, so comments on durability will follow. It's not BMW quality, but I didn't pay BMW money - nor was my previous Ford that good for that matter!

The small engine impresses with its urge off the line, and I am taking it easy, so it will possibly feel even better as things go on. Taking it easy has resulted in an average MPG of 44 so far - see if that keeps up.

Gadget count is high and easy to use - nav/Bluetooth/DAB/reversing camera and so on. All touch screen and a doddle to use.

Rear space is a bit pokey, but I knew that anyway - the split boot floor means the boot is large enough to cope nowadays.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

OP here - 5 days in and today the nav/radio/bluetooth wouldn't come on. I think it's a noted problem on here -- hope not.

I seem to have got to the bottom of the infotainment issue, in that I think it can just take its time to boot up on the odd morning. If it doesn't come on straight away, it does after a couple of minutes - like most computer style things, this period feels like an age when it clearly isn't, but so far so good.

Oh, and take out the false floor in the boot and it's massive!!! Hope I never rue the fact that the extra space is freed up by the absence of a spare wheel LOL!! I think the fuel tank has reduced capacity to free up space too.

2012 Nissan Juke Tekna 1.6 DIG-T from UK and Ireland


Makes me smile everytime I drive it


Tear in the front driver's seat; that's it.

General Comments:

Fantastic car. Love it. It makes me smile every time I drive it.

I have the 1.6 DIG-T 190 Tekna engine. It is quick and it will hit 60 mph in 7.5 secs and prefers Super Unleaded. The engine is smooth and can shock a lot of BMW drivers and boy racers. It will cruise at 70 MPH at 2,900 RPM in 6th.

The handling is the only letdown, as I find it can't cope with the engine as well as it should be able to.

Overall I will give this car 8.5/10

I have ordered the new Juke in 1.6 DIG-T Tekna again.

2011 Nissan Juke Acenta 1.6 petrol from UK and Ireland


Should be called the Nissan Joke - it is rubbish


Air-conditioning malfunctioned at less than 3,000 miles, and stopped working completely at just over 4,000.

CD player broke at just over 5,000 miles.

Rear passenger door lock developed a fault and became difficult to use at less than 7,000 miles.

Seats were starting to wear by 10,000 miles.

Clutch wore out and needed replacement at barely 12,000 miles.

General Comments:


Disappointing build quality.

Horrible to drive.

Should be called the Nissan Joke.

Why it is now one of the most popular 10 or so cars in Britain is beyond me.

Nissans have changed beyond recognition in the last 5 years, and for all the wrong reasons.

They used to be known for reliability, but I owned 3 Peugeot's previously and they were all far better.

After 16 months and 14,000 miles, enough was enough and I traded it in for a new Ford Focus.

On reading these pages, it seems that Nissan build and reliability is not as good as in the days before they were owned by Renault? Just an observation...

2011 Nissan Juke S 1.6 DIG-T from North America


A fast car that will get a lot of looks


These are all recalls. Haven't had a thing go wrong with it aside from those... replacing door handles in order to prevent freezing, flashing the dash computer, updating the mass air flow sensor, and fixing a fuel sensor issue.

General Comments:

This thing is a blast to drive. The CVT AWD Juke is responsive, speedy, loves to be thrown into the curves, and is overall one of the best vehicles I have owned.

I have modified the car a bit... put an Injen Short Ram Intake in place of the factory air box, as well as a Stillen Axleback exhaust. These combined have made the car throatier and way more fun to drive than the stock variant. When I pulled off the old muffler, I was amazed to see how restricted the air flow was. Now it's straight back! When the turbo kicks in, you can hear the SRI suck the air in, and then letting off the gas, you can really hear the WHOOSH as it dumps the air back out from the turbo. Get so many looks with this thing ;)

I live in Pennsylvania, so we get snow, and the Juke's vector AWD is a dream come true. When one tire slips a bit, it will adjust the power to the wheels appropriately to try and help out. Even if you don't have snow, you'll really feel the vector AWD kick in on the interstates, when you make some aggressive and agile passing maneuvers.

Gas is pretty good if that's your thing. Stock I was doing about 24/30, and after modifying it, I'm doing an unbelievable 26/32 (unless I really throw it around in the city, in which case I get around 22 MPG). Keep in mind you'll want to leave this in AWD-V mode, and leave it in the automatic CVT position instead of any other mode (FWD, AWD, etc) and using the manual driving style. The car just knows what to do best!

The Juke is NOT great at hauling things. In order to put the back seats down, you must pull the front seats forward a bit. This is quite annoying, but hey, I didn't buy the car for hauling lots of stuff. Also, if you're planning on driving adults around... don't put them in the back seat. They will not appreciate the room.

The driver's seat is EXTREMELY spacious. Really, I couldn't ask for more comfort and room for driving. The passenger seat, however, is noticeably smaller and less comfortable than the driver's. If your passenger is over 6' tall, you might want to consider another vehicle.

Overall, I love the Juke for my needs. I have the base S model and do not have the I-CON system. I drove both, and found the I-CON system to be a gimmick. The Juke S drives in normal mode all the time, whereas the I-CON lets you switch between high revving performance modes and lackluster eco mode. Neither of those are that great, as the normal mode has been proven to outperform the "performance" mode many times.

2010 Nissan Juke Visia 1.6 non-turbo from Denmark


I like the car for its attitude, handling and compactness - not for the practicality


Paint chipping on front bumper at 5000km by the separation of the bumper and body. Re-painted by the dealer and a bumper-spacer fitted. No problem since.

Minor squeaking from the dashboard during cold weather.

General Comments:

Very fun to drive and good at handling - it really does drive on rails.

A different looking car that will guarantee you attention on the road.

The 1.6 non-turbo is sufficient for city driving, but not much room for more than that.

Manual gear box is super precise!

Seats are somewhat comfortable, but there isn't much room for more than 4 people and two small pieces of luggage in the back.

Interior build is OK, the plastic is a little hard and seem to easily be scratched. But the shiny middle console and door trim will probably survive the lifetime of the car without any problem.
