1989 Nissan Maxima GXE review from North America
"One hell of a car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
My transmission went (twice) since I bought the car. Though much of this is due to me being an over aggressive teenage driver.
The only thing to go since was the master cylinder somewhere around 155k.
General comments?
This is an awesome car. It's seriously quick and the handling is superb. Theres a lot to say for a car that still rides smooth, starts instantly, and drives with no squeaks at 160 thousand. This car has never let me down (discounting the 2 tranny's) and has never needed anything, but normal maintenance (tires, brakes, spark plugs, struts. Inside every light, gage, window, and switch still works. Even the A\C still blows cold without any recharging. Nissan did an amazing job designing this car. The body is starting to become a problem due to the new england winters, but still manages to look decent. I recommend this car to anybody since it'll keep up with sports cars, carry 5 people and gear, and still start every morning.
