When I first got this car on Christmas, I noticed a few bad rust spots on the bottom near the doors. Whenever I closed the flip-up headlights it made a funny sound. There were a few brake lights blown, and the stereo crackled whenever I turned it up.
This is my first car so I can't help, but to love it. this car was only $550. It has about 70 horsepower which is usually pretty weak, but since it is so light it feels like it has more power. At night me and my best friend who has a 1985 BMW make passes through a stretch of curves and hills. My car easily out handles his through the tight curves due to the low ground clearance of the car. There is also an abandoned airport runway that is exactly one mile long where we race. 1987 Nissan Pulsar VS. 1985 BMW, better race then you would think, though I am victorious. Overall I guess this car is not that fast compared to newer sports cars, but I can deal with my competition. This car gets greats gas mileage. In the summer I take the T-tops, and hatchback off and cruise, I get a lot of looks from people.
Don't know what kind of BMW your friend has or what condition it is in, but it must be pretty humiliating to be beaten by an '87 Pulsar with 125K on it!
I am not surprised that the pulsar beats the old old old BM...
Those little imports are very quick, light and have a peppy inline 4 that is usually quicker and more durable then newer american inline 4's cough cough 1995 cavalier/neons...)
The BM is far far heavier... and it's an 85???
Probably an inline 4 or a diesel...
Dear Sirs,
I bought a 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX in Germany and choose it over other Nissan models like the Sentra which had a good view of the road. Although it was a little bit limited in observing the autobahn. I liked it in hot, hot weather and did not have any problems with it. It was very appealing to the eyes and to the soul! I may have lost other opportunities, but this was definitely a well thought up automobile and a good investment. The more I put into to it the more of an enthusiast of new car designs I had become.
I liked displaying it and serving needs of others, it had original style and grace. I will always will remember that first car of mine. It was incomparable at any rate. Thank you for an opportunity to share memories with my comments filling a void back in 1987 and giving you personal evaluation and testimony.
