2014 Nissan Qashqai ST 2.0 petrol from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Quality at its best

Faults:

Cannot fault this car, extremely reliable, smooth and comfortable, in the three years of my ownership.

General Comments:

Offers a great driving position, excellent all round visibility, front of the cabin is very comfortable, fuel economy is impressive, recorded 6.1 litres per 100km on long runs at speed.

The vehicle is very stable and holds the road very well considering its elevated ride height.

The body design is very attractive with good quality finish, door and boot are well fitted.

This is the base model Quashqai, but has many modern electronic safety features; the car is highly rated in Euro and ANCAP tests, which makes the car feel safe and secure.

The interior is very well finished, with soft materials and easy to read instrumentation.

I like the electronic park brake, the CVT transmission is very smooth and gives an impressive drive; ideally I would like a manual, but CVT is better than a standard auto gearbox.

2014 Nissan Qashqai Tekna 1.6 turbo diesel 4x4 from Cyprus

Summary:

For the price of the car it is terrible

Faults:

The car inside is made of hard plastic, making it feel as if you were driving your child's Fisher Price pedal car.

Lot's of rattling noise from the trim on bumpy roads.

General Comments:

The Qashqai, for the price of the car, it is terrible. If you're used to opening and closing the windows in your solidly built car, with the door trim staying in one place, get ready for the door trim moving about in a Qashqai when the window comes to its stop point due to the metal structure behind being of such a weak construction.

Paintwork is cheap too, marks easily and is uneven on bumpers.

Colours on the plastic are slightly different than the metal.
