I have had a 1988 Oldsmobile Cutlass Calais for abut five years now and it has been a wonderful car to ride. Very minimum repairs.

I bought the car as a birthday gift for my 21st birthday for $3,000 cash. At the time the care was thirteen years old and it had about 65K miles on it. The car was a was of money. I have put more money into fixing it than I payed for the car and I am still not done. I am in the process of buying another to replace the one I have. It is a shame that I have to get ride of the car that has less than 100k miles on it. The car is beautiful, but it is a piece of junk. It is nothing more than a beautiful piece of junk sitting in front of my house. I will never buy an Oldsmobile ever again because of the number of problems and large amount of money I spent on it just to work. I WILL NEVER BY AN OLDSMOBILE!!! I WILL NEVER BUY AN OLD MOBILE!!!

I have an 88 and have to agree that it costs a lot to keep up the repairs on it. I only have 68,222 miles and so far the ignition coils, brake hydraulic system, radiator leaks, heater core, and new battery. I love my car, but why is it such a dud? All mechanics hate fixing my car!!

Mine has a six cylinder I've had it for about five years now. We bought it for 600$ My husband had to rebuild the engine when we got it, but since then it's been a great car, I love the way it handles, must be the wide tires on it. It will get up a go for sure. We've had to put in a new fuel pump and a crankshaft sensor, muffler and pipes, but other than that it's good. The only problem I have with it is it's rusting away like crazy, we are in process of doing some body work and repainting it. Husband says the frame is still good shape just the body is rusting. Oh and the stupid sun roof always leaks, new seal and all.
