1992 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme SL review from North America
"A great car for the money spent"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The usual alternator problems at 125000 miles.
Original battery failed after 8 years.
Brakes were replaced because of a manufacturer recall.
Rear struts were replaced at 135000, they were the most expensive thing that needed to be fixed.
General comments?
This car was an excellent purchase, I loved the design of the car and the size of the 2-door was very appealing. I purchased the car via an auction and found that I came away with a steal.
This car was very reliable, most of the problems that I had were minor and were easily fixed. The car is also very easy to work on yourself with most of the serviceable items easily reached.
The engine was great with plenty of power available no matter how fast you going. The power of the car also made daily drives to school and work more fun. When I went on longer trips the ride and comfort was also a plus. The car had a nice smooth ride to it and the seat gave great support.
The interior of the car was well laid out with everything well within reach. The placement of the stereo, was a little bit of a reach but the steering wheel controls solved that problem. The interior also gives ample room for all of the passengers in this large 2-door car, sitting in the back seat was not a problem for most.
The car was a great purchase in my book and now I am looking for another Cutlass only because my last one was totaled in an accident. I loved my last Cutlass and I am looking forward to owning another.
