1987 Opel Kadett LS from Netherlands - Comments

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing special. Sometimes problems with engine running while stationary when the weather is cold and wet. Engine tends to stop very often until it reaches its normal operating temperature. This is most probably an electronic problem. This problem hasn't been solved yet.

General comments?

Front tires and shock absorbers need to be replaced more frequently than usual. 1.8 motor gives good performance, but fuel efficiency is rather low (about 11 l per 100 km). Steering when parking the car requires strong arms! Rust problems in various places.

RUST, RUST, RUST. It seems it's all over that poor little car. Actually, it's a rust-made body, instead of metal of some sort. Someday the engine and the front axle will go separately from the rusty body work of the (?) car by their own will.

And that because the engine still works properly and it may be ashamed of the way the car looks.
