1984 Panther Kallista 1.6 petrol from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Fantastic fun vehicle

Faults:

Starter motor required overhaul.

General Comments:

Great reliable fun car, gets lots of admiring looks. Very like a Morgan Plus 4, only a lot cheaper to purchase. Great car for a Sunday cruise.

1989 Panther Kallista V6 2.9L petrol from UK and Ireland

Summary:

An interesting and reliable Morgan alternative

Faults:

No major problems; only replacement shock absorbers and radiator needed. This car has been surprisingly trouble free for such a speciality car.

General Comments:

If you are searching to buy a Panther Kallista, it is well worth going for the V6, as the 4-cylinder versions are feeble. The 2.9 litre V6 in my car is the same as in the European Ford Granada Scorpio, and it provides plenty of acceleration power.

Very well made; it certainly feels like a hand-crafted low-production British sports car.

The Kallista handles pretty well and has a reasonable ride, but it can be rather prone to oversteer if pushed too hard.

Very comfortable seats too, in an inviting, but quite cramped interior.

This aluminium bodied sportster is getting pretty rare now.

Please get rid of those annoying pop up adds they spoil your good work and reports.

1985 Panther Kallista L 2.8i Ford V6 from UK and Ireland

Faults:

Fuel tank corrosion - leads to engine/fuel system problems.

General Comments:

Great fun car to drive. Scary performance, especially in the wet.

As it is old and not used very much, you have to be very careful that the petrol tank doesn't rust, as you can't easily get a new one.
