2009 Perodua Viva from Sri Lanka

Summary:

Cheap, reliable commuter

General Comments:

I rode in this a few times a week while in Sri Lanka

Good seating for 5, and good headroom.

Doors looked really thin.

Suspension was not good.

Good seat material.

Not good storage with all seats being used.

Cold AC.

Thin cheap tires, metal, paint.

Great fuel economy.

Boring style.

2007 Perodua Viva EZ 1.0 from Malaysia

Summary:

Choose this car if you are on a budget!

Faults:

No problem, except the alarm. I have to lock the car manually.

Poor handling, especially when taking corners.

The body is not really reliable, as if it is using aluminum can material.

General Comments:

The most fuel efficient car that I have ever used, compared to the Perodua Kelisa and Kenari. It can travel you from A to B with less worry about the fuel consumption. Since the rising of fuel recently (RM 2.70 per litre), I doesn't not really affect me although the Viva is using automatic.

The seats are not really comfortable, just OK.

The engine is powerful, because of the DVVT. When it is raining, you will feel as if you are under a zinc roof.

The car is light, so beware when speeding up. It can accelerate 120 km/h without any problem, but afraid it might lost control.

The interior design is OK. The car is OK for 4 person, not for 5. Especially at the back row. OK for two adults.

I'm agree with the comment above. I own the 1.0 Perodua Viva EZ since last year. Had no problem with the car. It runs smoothly though the handling isn't that nice (but relatively okay compare to the price). Fuel consumption is phenomenal, even much more economical than my Kancil 850. The ride is generally okay, but do expect some shaking whenever you pass a lorry.

All in all, it's a lovely 2nd car for anyone who is looking for a fun and cheap car.

Yep... I am the one who wrote the review... although I don't like the body size, but the importance is the practicability and fuel consumption, but the price is higher than a Proton Saga BLM... however it is based on people's judgment whether to buy or not to buy... the above comment is right, this car is very suitable for a second car, or a car for supermarket rides... easy to park and maneuver... good luck!!
