2006 Peugeot 206 XRA 1.4 from Colombia

Summary:

Looks always great and it's a fun car to drive

Faults:

The only problem I have had with the car was that a couple of days after buying it, the inside of the headlight melted so the Dealer replaced them completely free it still had guarantee...

General Comments:

Is not the quickest car from all but I get 470kms out of the fuel tank. Dealer service it's good but could be better.Haven't had any other problem. I enjoy it every day, looks always nice...planning to buy sunroof spoiler and other extras...

2006 Peugeot 206 RC (GTi 180) 2.0 from Lebanon

Summary:

A wonderful driver's car

Faults:

The clutch vibrates when starting from a standstill, this is very annoying in heavy traffic.

Gear changes are not smooth, I feel the clutch grinding, especially when changing from 4th to 3rd.

General Comments:

This car has lots of power and I enjoy driving it a lot.

It's handling is very good and very predictive and graduate.

The ride is fairly comfortable for a sports car, however, noise is a bit high when cruising on a highway.

The rims are exposed, when parking near a sidewalk, they get scratched easily.

2006 Peugeot 206 GTi 180 2.0 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Bit of a dark horse

Faults:

No faults.

Wheels can be curbed easily.

General Comments:

Had this car from new for two years now on a hire purchase agreement and will be buying it outright rather than handing back. My second faultless Peugeot now, but I'll probably buy something else next time just as a change.

It's a great drive, not the most comfortable as the suspension is hard (just what you want from a car like this) Whips around corners, and those seats hold you nicely in place. I deliberately took this car down snow covered country lanes and found the ESP very impressive, keeping the car under control.

Performance wise it's better in the corners than in a straight line, but easily keeps up with it's main rivals in the acceleration stakes, regardless of magazine reviews and pub talk. You just need to keep the revs up high in order to keep up, as most of the power is above 4k rpm.

I bought this car as the deal being offered at the time was too good to turn down. I wanted a Civic Type R and spent a year weighing up the pros and cons of both cars. Although I know the Honda has better performance stats, there were still a lot of negative factors which I wont list here.

Overall a very good car, although I think this has something to do with my better than average dealership. Peugeot are a bit of a lottery I guess.

2006 Peugeot 206 OneLine 1.4 HDi from Romania

Summary:

So far so good

Faults:

Nothing so far (it's only 10 months old), except for the fact that the maintenance indicator shows a false value. It will be sorted out at the one year maintenance.

General Comments:

Since it's a brand new car which costed a serious amount of money I should consider normal the fact that it runs faultlessly ever since it was taken from the dealer, but I've seen many other new cars (of other types) that had lots of trouble in the warranty period, so I consider myself lucky and Peugeot a good car.

The engine, even if sometimes it feels that it's diesel, runs smoothly, has good power for its size and a surprising amount of torque, it's a pleasure to drive. No starting problems whatsoever.

The interiors are o.k. for a car designed 8 years ago, and so are they for a new car actually. Some criticize it, but it's comfortable. Sure, it's not spacious, but you cannot have large space in a small car. The sound-proofing isn't perfect, but the engine noise is not disturbing.

For the moment I am very pleased with the car, I hope that if you ask me three years from now, I will say the same thing.
