2005 Peugeot 307 Style Break 1.6 HDI from Slovenia

Summary:

Uncomfortable and unimpressive, but economic

Faults:

Passenger power window malfunction.

Front bumper needed readjustment.

Radio/CD controls not working properly.

General Comments:

On my opinion this car has three good points: it's cheap, has lots of space, reasonable fuel consumption.

It also has some bad points: very uncomfortable seats (no lumbar support for the driver), loud engine, lack of quality materials in the interior, bad handling on the road, electrical gadgets are not reliable (don't work every time you turn them on),...

2005 Peugeot 307 from Jamaica

Summary:

Nice drive if I get rid of the faults

Faults:

The air condition does not work. Started acting up from on warranty it would constantly chip out and then restart now it does not blow any at all.

The horn works on and off. The non working AC has to be on to get the horn to work.

Sometimes the horn works fine then sometimes it sounds as if it has a cold just squeaking.

There is an annoying squeaking sound everytime I brake or change gears.

I love the car, but the faults or annoying.

2005 Peugeot 307 XSE 2.0 petrol from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

Pleasant, reliable, roomy, very quiet mid-size hatch

Faults:

Intermittent clutch shudder since about 15000km. Still under discussion with dealer.

Leather on steering wheel faulty - replaced under warranty.

Brake shudder - machined rotors & fitted Valeo pads front & rear @ 37000km. Much better pads than original, less dust & kinder to disc rotors. (Job done by self)

General Comments:

Excellent performance & handling.

Great seating, very comfortable for all sizes. (I am 6ft 4in, my wife 5ft 1in tall)

Pleasant interior & exterior despite basic design now about 7 years old.

Dislike occasional thump from the rear suspension, which see ms common to all hatch models, and long gearlever travel.

Restricted forward vision takes some getting used to.

2005 Peugeot 307 HDI S 2.0 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Very poor for a car 10 months old - not worth th hassle or risk

Faults:

I bought the car from new 10 Months ago. These are the problems I have experience so far;

Faulty electric wing mirror on the driver side.

Faulty CD player - the 6 CD interchanger randomly refuses to play CDs.

2 product recalls.

And, the most recent and more serious of the problems is ongoing. 6 weeks ago a 'Depollution System Faulty' message appeared on the dash. I took it to a local dealership who after 2 weeks, lots of testing and replacing several parts (after seemingly fixing the problem, they took it for a testdrive and the fault returned) they told me the problem was sorted after replacing the turbo.

2 weeks later the same fault appeared on the dash and so back it went to the dealership who again replaced the turbo and told me the problem was fixed. yesterday, 2 weeks on driving from the south cost to the midlands - at the start of the journey the car was far from running smoothly and progressively got worse throughout the journey - severly jumping around 2000 - 2500 revs. after 200 miles the 'depollution' fault again appeared on the dash and the car then went into 'preservation' mode and now won't go above 60 mph - not great for a car supposedly 2.0L 136 BHP - looks like another trip back to the dealers - Not at all happy. Will definitely never ever buy a Peugeot again and will certainly never recommend one. It's just not worth the risk.

You told us nothing about the car, other than the service report. It is too bad you had such bad luck with the electrics, but what about the rest of the car? did you like the seats? are they supportive, what about the steering? the feel of the car on motorways, country lanes, engine noise, etc. I mean this cat is sold worldwide and I am considering buying one, I hope my local dealer knows more about electrics.

I see from your comments that you are having running problems. Have they found the problem with it yet, as I have the same problem with my car.

Many thanks.

I had the same problem with my 307 1.6 hdi it ended up being a sensor a the top of the inlet manifold.

It's a typical Peugeot 307 faults. Same problems with my 307 ST 2005 model. Avoid it if you can.
