Pretty sure it was at least late 90’s before the Lucerne was introduced.

27th Feb 2020, 04:00

Here are pictures from an actual owner of a 1994 Celebrity:

Before this gets out of control with false information, here are the facts of the General Motors FWD "A" body platform for the model years;

Chevy Celebrity: 1982-1990

Pontiac 6000: 1982-1991

Olds Cutlass Ciera: 1982-1996

Buick Century: 1982-1996

Though the Century nameplate carried on from 1997-2005 on the GM "W" platform.

Simple sources such as Wikipedia and Hemmings motor news will tell the same, and not these aftermarket companies listing engines and batteries for non-existent cars.

27th Feb 2020, 17:19

Nice try; that would be a Cutlass Ciera in that photo.

27th Feb 2020, 17:21

Hilarious, those photos are a Chevy Cavalier.

27th Feb 2020, 18:20

False information? 6 links have been provided so far which suggest what you said in this comment is false. People can decide for themselves.

It’s not uncommon for vehicles to have different production dates in different countries. For example, the S-10 was discontinued in the mid 2000’s in the US. It is still made to this day in Brazil. Would recommend thinking outside of your own country before being so authoritarian about when vehicles were made.

27th Feb 2020, 18:29

I wouldn’t buy it. And I also don’t like it. I’ve owned first and second gen Camaros. I’d skip after 73. Sure there are the next collectibles. But not me; you buy it if it’s you. I also said there’s 1980s exceptions. Most imports is my thoughts. The 911 turbo wide body whale tail Carrera air cooled from the 80s is very hot. Some as much as new ones. Sure you can buy a Bricklin or Delorean. There’s great cars now to buy in 2020; far faster, far better to drive. Why relive the 80s? I don’t get it.

27th Feb 2020, 18:50

I would say learn the vehicles in your inventory, seeing how there's no such car as the 1980 Lucerne and the fact that the car listed in the photo is a 1980 Camaro.

As for you, the last four sources that you have come up with are pretty amusing. Can you please find more for us?

27th Feb 2020, 19:20

Your comment is right on the money. Unfortunately this is already "out of control" as the same individual seems to be trying to play the same game they did on a Chrysler 5th Avenue thread a few years back. This resulted in the comments getting disabled, which will probably happen here sooner or later. Notice the posting times on their comments are spread apart trying to make it look as if it's more than one person.

27th Feb 2020, 21:17

.... pretty sure that's a Camaro. The Lucerne was made from 2005 to 2012. In all it was a pretty mediocre car, which is probably why it was discontinued.

27th Feb 2020, 21:18

Carsurvey trolls are not even worth your time. They will find erroneous information and post links to "prove" they are right. Because, you know, if it's on the internet, it has to be true.

27th Feb 2020, 22:28

Here we go again. How about you get into your "2005" S-10... and drive it off the nearest bridge?

28th Feb 2020, 01:47

Pretty sure you're wrong. 2006 was when the Lucerne was introduced.

28th Feb 2020, 04:21

I posted comment 5:01 Feb 27th.

I pretty much saw this coming considering it's happened before on here; False information being dug up by the same (that's right the same) person that doesn't support their claim. This time it's the Chevy Celebrity.

Let's do it!

Your first link with the Haynes manual? Yeah it goes to year 1996 because the Century and Ciera were the two out of four models that lasted that long with mostly interchangeable parts and repairs that were the same as the defunct Celebrity and 6000.

Your second "streetsource", those multiple photos are of a Chevy Cavalier, probably 1996.

Third is your "Cardomain"; It's too bad both cars in those pictures are the Oldsmobile Ciera. The rocket emblem on the front grill should give you a hint. And the red one is not even a 94 model; 2 door versions went out in 1992.

Your fourth link? "easyautosales" At least you saved the best for last, this one is pretty funny because anyone with the least amount of knowledge about GM cars (and the description below the picture) will tell you that the car for sale is a Camaro Z28. Despite the fact the Buick Lucerne debuted in late 2005 as a 2006 model.

These links you provide are a joke and you know it.

Oh, and here ya go, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramos_Arizpe_Assembly

Yeah it's an assembly plant located in Mexico where a lot of GM cars were built, including the Celebrity. Take a good look at the Celebrity production years. Yep, 1982-1990 which proves you wrong about "they still made the Celebrity in 1993 in Mexico".

So if you want to keep charming yourself by posting bogus links, feel free.

Still not gonna convince me or anyone else that knows the facts.

28th Feb 2020, 17:50

Now that's a rare car. 1980 Buick Lucerne with the Z28 package. Definitely made in "very limited quantities".

28th Feb 2020, 21:03

This particular one looks like a G-body if you ask me.

28th Feb 2020, 21:06

27th Feb 2020, 21:17, who is not me, said it was 2005. You’re saying it’s 2006. People working together to try to discredit other posters on here can’t seem to agree. Interesting.

28th Feb 2020, 21:31

Thankfully I never was interested in the 80s whatsoever. Other than the opportunity to make money was great with the excess. A decade and much of the 90s too. In 2020, just getting a license or buying a new car as an adult now is great. Exciting cars. Seeing showroom windows covered up late 60s was unreal. Fantastic vehicles out. The 80s has garish vehicles, underpowered, pretty bleak designs. Then cars shaped like beans came out. More concern on occupant room. And still today. The worst designs then and later include the Aztek, Prius, Celica, PT Cruiser. You couldn’t give me one.

28th Feb 2020, 22:27

The Brazilian S-10 you are referring to is nothing more than a rebadged 2nd generation Colorado pick up, completely unrelated to the prior North American S-10 discontinued after 2004.

As for a Celebrity being built in Mexico after 1990? No, never happened. Not even on a different platform. The nameplate was retired after 1990.

Comment 04:21 refuted all of your links with perfection.

Seriously, it's not fair on a forum like this for people looking for legit information that can actually be helpful.

28th Feb 2020, 23:49

That Optima battery site lists applications for vehicles that were never even heard of. I just looked up a battery for a 1997 Chevrolet Regal. And yes, there was actually a part number.

So, is that supposed to prove that those exist also?

29th Feb 2020, 02:22

Yeah, let’s trust someone talking about a 2005 S10 to provide accurate info. That truck was discontinued after the 2003 model year FYI. I’d double check whatever info is being provided by you in this thread.

29th Feb 2020, 04:30

Which 6 links are you talking about? The 6 that everybody is joking and making fun of... None of them support your assertion that the Celebrity was built after 1990.

29th Feb 2020, 17:10

Agreed. But you got to give them credit on how hysterical the pictures and sources they supply are.

29th Feb 2020, 18:14

What’s next, a walk down disco lane.

29th Feb 2020, 19:03

Wow, sarcasm goes right past you, doesn't it. Oh and "FYI": the last year for the Chevrolet S-10 (and GMC Sonoma) was 2004 , NOT 2003 (look it up).

So will have to "double check the information" provided by YOU on this thread, won't we?

29th Feb 2020, 20:36

"Pretty simple actually"

In case you didn't know, the month of September is when you can purchase the next new model year. 2005 is the year the Lucerne was introduced as a 2006, which was the first full model year. Therefore both comments are different but accurate.

Unlike 05:21 and 02:55.

I've been keeping an eye on this, and I've now seen enough evidence to be confident that the person who posted the various links is not behaving with complete sincerity.

As such, I'm going to bring this discussion to a close, and I'll be keeping a close watch out for any similar activity, so I can remove it as quickly as possible.
