I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am, and two weeks ago my window broke. Didn't fall in until Sunday morning when I pulled outta my driveway and it fell completely in. Tuesday, I removed the panel off and noticed it was the regulator. I ordered the new regulator and tried to install it. I then found out that one of the two "clamps" that are glued to the window have broken off. Now, I have to buy a new damn window and I'm trying to figure out how I am suppose to get the window out/in. Very upset.
Manual Regulator: $200
New Window: No idea how much it'll cost.
In my personal opinion... I'll never buy one of these pieces of crap again. Pontiac should either buy everybody with this problem a new window and fix it for free... or be sued for every dang penny they have for making something so crappy.
Great running car.
Problem with window.
HAHAHA.
I guess GM owes me about $9,000 for repairs I've had to do on my GM cars over the past 10 years because of crappy parts. I won't hold my breath though.
They care about their product for the amount of time/miles stated on the warranty. Past that...you're outta luck.
Personally I would try a junk yard for the window. Look in the Yellow pages for a late model salvage yard and get a price.
Good Luck!
