I agree with the good comments. I have a 2000 Grand Am GT1.

The power and torque are unmatched by comparable cars such as the eclipse which is faster, but also has half the room. All in all I think it is a great call and totally disagree with the poor rating!

We just purchased a black 2000 Grand Am GT 4dr. What a powerhouse!! We owned a couple of Mustang 5.0 GTs and I believe this Grand Am would give a stock 5.0 a run in the quarter mile. The handling is superior, excellent braking, and it has a mean rumble for a V6. The stereo sounds excellent, and I love the traction control. We would strongly recommend this car to anyone looking for 4 doors with handling, acceleration, and sporty looks.

I'm getting ready to purchase a Grand AM Gt with Ram air, I'm very excited, I previously owned a grand prix gt with super charged v6 at 240 horsepower and it was pretty fast, so I'm confident the grand am will rock as well.

I have driven 2000 Grand Am GT for almost 4 years. This car has good power and handling. 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. Now I have 130.000 miles and it still runs great. I don't want to change it.

I totally agree with comments 20:40, 22:39 and 17:59. I have owned both a 5.0 Mustang and a Pontiac Grand Am. The Hot Grand Am GT's will definitely eat the 5.0 Mustangs for breakfast and do it much more comfortably. I've driven the ram-air and non-ram-air V-6 Grand Ams and both are very formibable cars that are grossly under rated. My current Grand Am is the Quad 4, but it has been modified with a custom engineered cold-air system and ram intake box and high-performance tires. Even with the 4 it literally screams. It is a worthy competitor with my 2007 Mustang 4.0 (which also has cold air induction). If I have to get somewhere in a REAL hurry, I take my GA.

I disagree with the poor rating. I own a 2003 Grand Am GT loaded and it's got great handling and startling acceleration taking in consideration that it is under-rated. I love the car and have put many other cars to shame in 0 to 100km/hr races (Acura RSX-Type S, 5.3L Vortec, Tiburon GSR, RX-8). Braking is amazing! I had a friend sitting in the back seat, with his head on my center console! I recommend this car to any one looking for a great sporty 2-door car!

It's an I-4 (inline 4) not V-4.
