I'm not sure if you realize this... but there are cases of even your fabulous Lexus having cars break down.

So give us your story.

But leave your recommendation and pessimistic view of GM cars to yourself. For every unfortunate case like yours, there are countless of GM products that are fabulous.

Continue to buy GM and further out economy.

Stuff happens... You just got unlucky, but you got your Lexus now, so things even out in the end.

I've had my sunfire for 10 years. Replaced clutch once and brakes. Other than that, not one thing has gone wrong.

I take care of my vehicle... not insinuating that you do not, but nevertheless...

K thanks.

The idea of this forum was to give your opinion of this car. I personally will not buy GM, but it does not mean that I will not support the economy.

I think that is great that you have had no issues, but the fact is countless other people have had issues with the 1997.

I did not say that Lexus did not have issue, what I said was that they stand behind there product.

Normal maintenance would have not prevented my issues that happened with the car. The simple fact it was a LEMON!

Now why do you think there are so many of the sunfires on a used car lot now? Because the owners decide they were a headache. Stick with your car in a few years you will only get 500 for your car. As of right now you could only sell it to a private party for 2500 if you are lucky. I say more power to you. Enjoy your car!

WORST car ever. The lady is correct on all the failures this car has. Why do you think it is rated 2 of 10? It rattles like most other cheap GM cars - both in the head of the engine and in the interior. Suspension pops and squeaks. Heater core is prone to failure. Steering rack failed in the first three years of production, GM did a recall AFTER everyone had paid hundreds of dollars to replace them out of their own wallet and GM would not offer reimbursement.

ZERO resale value, fastest depreciation I have seen yet from a Pontiac short of the Le mans "egg".

If you do not own one of these, keep it that way or you will be sorry!

OK I have had my car for about three years now and the only things that I have had to change on the car is plugs wires and oil... car is great on gas I can go two weeks normal driving around town on one tank of gas. a lot of the problems I have read on this site are from bad maintenance but you can't tell people that they think it is car issues not them.
