Fast, fun, but really high maintenance
The Zenith carburetors failed, costing over $800 to fix.
The seat belts refused to pick up any slack, just drooping pathetically.
The Wheels were terribly unbalanced.
The ignition system failed, needing complete replacement.
The valve covers needed upgrading to "turbo-style" because of bad oil leaks.
The gas pedal broke and stayed floored while running once.
The Sportomatic Transmission "Main Seal" failed and was very expensive to replace.
Zoom! She goes fast for an old Porsche.
The Sportomatic transmission, shifting without a clutch, is a novel and good idea... however it seriously needs a rev limiter to prevent over-revving the engine while down-shifting.
I wish I had the "S" model, with 70 more horsepower and manual transmission. That would have been the ultimate early 911 to have.
Even as beat up as the car was (mistreated by previous owners), the car still got lots and lots of looks from people as I drove by.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know
