2019 Ram Trucks 1500 Crew Cab Limited AWD 5.7 V8 from North America

Summary:

Hey Dodge, you did it again!!

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

This is my 2nd Ram. This one is the best!! My previous one was a 2015 Long Horn Crew Cab AWD, and I felt it was time to trade it in and head to the Limited model. Honestly? Love it!! Got it at Barbera Auto Land here in Philadelphia. It's all black like my previous Ram. Extremely comfortable inside. Has everything!! Like my previous Ram, yes it's got the Hemi V8 which I love. Just loves the interstates.

The only thing I don't like is the dial controls for the transmission, but it takes time to learn. Chrysler needs to understand that not everyone likes that setup. People like me either like the column shifter or the console shifter. Otherwise, it's a fabulous truck! No wonder it's Motor Trend's truck of the year again! I love it. Definitely would recommend this truck big time!! Dodge, you did it again. You hit the jackpot when you made this truck!!

Why does this "review" sound like something posted by a salesperson on a slow day at good old Barbera Auto Land in Philly?

Any vehicle should not have problems with only 4500 miles. Any automobile made by Fiat/Chrysler I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw it.

2014 Ram Trucks 1500 Tradesman 3.6L V6 from North America

Summary:

If you're looking for a fuel efficient, full size pickup, this is it

Faults:

Electric power steering at 70K.

General Comments:

This has been a great truck for me. I had a Ford F250 Super Duty crew cab because I got a good deal on it. I needed the truck to tow a boat, a golf cart, and to haul our 3 dogs around. That truck got 9 MPG with a 5.4L V8. This Ram I get 20 MPG with mixed driving. The Ford was killing me on gas as my new job is 27 miles one way. With the Ram I am able to keep a truck and use it as my daily driver.

This truck drives super smooth and quiet. The 8 speed automatic shifts perfectly and keeps the V6 in its power band. This truck feels more powerful and quicker than the Ford, but it does weigh A LOT less.

Have had mine since new in November '13, and love it! Who needs a V8, right?

Absolutely! After the Pentastar I don't think I will ever bother with a V8 again. 305 hp and mated to the 8 speed automatic with a towing capacity of 6500 pounds. Pulling 4300 from Colorado to Minnesota last year I still got 15 mpg and when not towing have been right at 20 mpg in mixed driving and 22.5 highway. For a full size 4 door 4WD pickup they are just unbeatable for gas mileage.

2016 Ram Trucks 1500 Sport 4x4 Crew Cab 5.7 Hemi from North America

Summary:

Great truck so far! Highly recommended

Faults:

Driver's side headlight fogged (inside) after going through the car wash. The dealer told me it was a manufacturing defect and replaced at no cost.

General Comments:

I got the truck new from a dealer in northern New Jersey. The lease with $0 down is $490/month, the game plan is to buy the truck out at the end for the agreed upon roughly $25,000 as stated in the lease agreement.

I thoroughly enjoy driving the truck. I would recommend buying one if you are in the market. I was formerly a "Ford guy," but have owned trucks from all the "Big 3". I have owned Ford and Dodge trucks (gas) and Chevrolet and Dodge (diesel). I do prefer a diesel but couldn't pass up the styling on the Ram 1500 Sport, Crew Cab, Blackout Package.

The Hemi engine is great. It is powerful and sounds great straight from the factory. I would say it is the wise choice in motors. The new diesel in the Ram 1500 is good, but the Hemi is better. Also, don't be ridiculous and get the V6, if that is still an option, hopefully it is not...

Fuel economy is surprisingly decent. My best average on the highway was 25 MPG (average speed 74 MPH). With normal driving, a healthy mix of city and highway, you can expect about 17 MPG.

Still under 10,000 miles but so far, so good. I will update as time and miles go on.

You're so very right. How dare they sell a V6 with 305 HP that gets up to highway speed even while towing a boat without issue! /Sarcasm.

Maybe the OP should actually drive one before hating on it. Not everyone needs to show off their horsepower rating while towing a 1500 lb boat on American roads that can't even take advantage of the extra performance, unless they're pulling something heavier than 6500 LB or mountain roads...

If I really wanted to tow something, I'd rather have the diesel anyway.
