After 48000 miles, the car started to chug and cut out, runs very rough. I took it into a local dealer where they told me the car requires two new injectors, and a part for the engine managment system. Total cost £620!! This seems to be really excessive for a four year old car that has averaged 12000 miles a year.
Renault after sales care is appalling, and having read all comments on this website with regard to Renault Clios, it seems this is a common fault. I won't be buying a Renault again.
My neighbour has an 04 Clio. Has called the AA out twice. 1st time no. 3 coil to injector; replaced. 2nd time no. 1 was replaced. This on a car with a genuine 14k on the clock. Cost £60 each time.
I wouldn't necessarily suggest Fords are any better. I've never received service from a Ford dealer that has been anywhere near the level of service I get from my local Renault dealers. Example - When the battery went flat on my Clio (after 5 years) the radio needed recoding - Renault did this for free, as opposed to Ford who when my battery on my Fiesta went flat after 8 months (from new) charged £25 + VAT!
