As soon as I bought the car, it ran out of petrol, then during the year I've had the gearbox & clutch, brakes, front suspension & steering have been fixed.
This is my second MG Metro, my first one was written off. :-( However, this one isn't as immaculate, hence the repair bills, but it still drives like a fun go-kart with loads of welly! :-D
I don't care if it's noisy, or that it rattles, I give it 10 out of 10 for pleasure to drive!
I know the feeling well! Love showing up BMWs in mine, but now need a new carb :-(
I have owned a MG Metro Turbo for 6 years now, owning a MG Metro before this. The car is a 1988 model in white. I bought it for 1500 quid with 35,000 miles. It was imaculate though in the first year needed 2 melted pistons replacing, and a gear box.
Though the car never had a day without a fault I love driving it and will keep it until it can be fixed no more.
I would not recommend anyone buying one as you will be addicted to it for ever.
Fun factor on the MG Metro's and GTi' 10/10 :D

I put a race engine in mine and it will out accelerate a siera cosworth. Only major problem is the gearbox which has been rebuilt twice.
