2003 SAAB 9-3 Vector review from UK and Ireland
"Still a great looking car, but shame about the hassle that goes with ownership!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine light came on - diagnosed as EGR valve problem. This was replaced, and 2 years later the problem has come back.
Intercooler replaced - MPG increased significantly, but has dropped back again.
Driver's door lock failed - replaced, but can't control central locking from driver's door any longer.
Windows (usually rear) open on their own when the car is parked. Intermittent, but has not happened for a while.
SID warned for 12 months of rear brake light failure, when this was not the case.
All control panel lights (SID, Dash, A/C) at full brightness, and unable to turn them down. A/C not working, Radio/CD not working - had to remove SID fuse to re-set.
Central locking failed 5 times - had to use manual key to get into the car.
Passenger seat started to smoke and burn when the heat is turned on.
General comments?
Love the car - it's by far the most comfortable I've had.
It's such a shame that so many things have gone wrong with it.
Am looking to change the car within the next 12 months, and whilst I love the Saab 93, I'm not sure I want the hassle of owning another one.
