2005 Scion tC from North America

Summary:

Love it, love it, love it... FUN!!

Faults:

Recall for glass on sunroof.. Fixed by dealer.

General Comments:

I was one the first to buy the tC, and I have had a ball driving this little car (but roomy inside).

The one thing that I thought the day I drove off the lot was that radio cover door wouldn't last a year. But to my surprise, it has worked without fault. I also noticed other tC's around, and saw new tires (not factory ones), and thought maybe these cars eat tires, but mine has been fine with 27,000 now, and still the same tires. Maybe others drive a little different than I.

About the paint quality from others on this site. Mine has been OK, but not great. I do notice that if you don't keep a good coat of wax on the paint, it does stain with whatever falls on it like acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap, whatever. If you don't clean it off right away, a stain will stay forever. This is like most paints though.

2005 Scion tC 2.4 VVT-I from North America

Summary:

Wonderful car, minor problems

Faults:

Nothing huge has gone wrong... but I'm disappointed to say the MP3 radio isn't working right.

Example... I think it says error 4 when there is a CD in it... but not all the time though. It's working right now. But apparently that has gone wrong with other tC's as well.

And also the paint isn't too good. It's chipping and I'm finding little rust spots all over the car. Otherwise the car is perfect.

General Comments:

Great car, just minor things, but aren't a big deal.

I still love it and would get another one. And also it is very quick. Quicker than I thought it would be.

The vehicle is a year old and it's got "little rust spots all over it"???

I wouldn't be too happy about that.

After reading about the paint jobs that last less than a year I have opted NOT to get the Tc I was planning to buy. I'll stick with something a little better quality.

2005 Scion tC from North America

Summary:

A great car... highly recommended

Faults:

Nothing, just routine maintenance and oil changes.

General Comments:

I would highly recommend this car. I've owned the car since it was new and put almost 40,000 miles on it in about 18 months.

Zero problems, even with the heavy use. Handles extremely well, awesome sound system, nice acceleration, and really fun to drive.

This is my first Toyota, and will definitely not be my last. Very satisfied so far.

I won't question that you gave everything for this vehicle a 10/10. But I have to ask one thing; how short are you, exactly? I've driven the 2006 Scion tC and the thing has maybe a 5/10 for comfort, at best, because there's no leg, shoulder or head room.

Well, whatever suits you.

2005 Scion tC 2.4 from North America

Summary:

Best bang for the buck!

Faults:

Nothing!

General Comments:

The Scion tC was my first brand new car and I couldn't have asked for anything better. I did some Internet research before test driving, good thing I did because the dealer didn't know much about it considering it the car had only been on the market for a few months. I bought the car in Dec 04 and it’s now March 06 and I have had no problems at all. The only money I've had to put into it was for routine maintenance. The tires are still good, brakes, everything.

This car is quick, too! It's nice to have that edge on the highway especially when you live in Pittsburgh and most people think everyday is Sunday.

I have not heard any rattles at all, which seems to be a big complaint when it comes to this vehicle. I haven't had any problems with the paint, either.

My only tiny little complaint is the blind spots. I have my windows tinted, too so that doesn't help much, either (but that’s my fault!). Sometimes I'm afraid of backing into things, but I'm careful and that hasn't happened yet.

All in all, for the money, there is not a better vehicle out there and it's made by Toyota so you know it's going to run forever! The customizing options are amazing, there's so much you can do with this car to personalize it (too bad I don't have that kind of money) but my advice is, if you are going down that road, make sure you buying top of the line products or your car will end up looking terrible.
