I personally think that they are ugly, but for what you pay for and gas mileage, especially with the gas prices rising, this car is perfect to get to work. To each his own, I would rather take Scion TC anyday.

I own a Scion tC and I love the car. I first thought Scion xB's were ugly, but when they are customized they can be beautiful.

The car is nothing, but a box. the only way I would buy one is if it comes with everything and they charge is 1k. outside of that, I WILL NEVER BUY THIS CAR. EVER.

Yes, the previous comment was very helpful. Very.

So you hate the XB because it's a "box"? Well I am sure you are one of those people who loves the H2 which is nothing more than a BOX itself.

Yeah, but the Hummer is a much better looking box, it is less "toaster" like. It can do a lot more too, and is probably faster.

The xB is a box with some nice curves and good styling.

The H2/H3 is a rectangle with a hood.

...Not to mention, in 5 yrs the unreliable, made of plastic H2/H3 will be worth less than the Xb on a trade in or resale, GAURANTEED!! Once people catch on, these things will be worth a fortune... 90% of the people that talk bad about the Xb (ox) are Scion virgins... have never test drove or owned one...

I'd have to say, the box rocks!! And in 2008, the NEW Xb is coming out with a 6 cyl. engine, which will for sure be an instant hit... Power is the 1 and only thing lacking in this box...

The beauty of it is: "it is built to be ugly... but fun and versatile". So, like many Japanese designs, it could be ugly and silly but useful and lovable. I'm trying to convince myself into buying one, the only hurdle for me is - it is for young kids and I'm over 50.

I had to laugh at the person who thinks these xB's are for just for kids.

We saw an '05 for sale with 150K miles on it - perfect CarFax with many dealer-done oil changes and services - so we bought it for our 18 year old son. What a great car - roomy, 36+ MPG, many safety features, great insurance. Well made, superb reliability ratings (Consumer Reports reads like a Scion advert!)

After a year of perfect ownership - the old man (64 years old) went out and bought a 2012 xB. Love it. You gotta get used to the looks of these - but now I think it's ripping fun to walk up to it every day, hop in and take off. Great car - AND - it's pretty cool that you don't see yourself going by every 5 minutes (I see maybe 3 xB's a week, and always honk & flash my lights at them - like the old VW owners used to do).

Love the looks of it - and love its rock solid reliability and massive room-for-your-buck!!!
