It sounds to me as if you have had a bad experience with your car, more over I think you have had a bad apple. I have owned my Seat Ibiza Chill for neatly 2 years and 25000 miles and have not had one single problem. The first service cost £120 and the second £85. In fact it is such a good reliable and stylish little car my brother, sister and father now all have a Seat Ibiza Chill.

I know this may seem like I'm trying to win you over to like the car, but all ia mean to say is that it just a bit of bad luck for you whereas most Seat owners are very happy with their car.

2001 Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.8 20 VT from United Arab Emirates

Summary:

Cheap good looking performance vehicle

Faults:

-Internal door trim (handles) paint easily removed specially in hot climates.

-Dealers in this region are not up to the level that this brand requires.

-The engine power is greatly reduced a high ambient temperatures. Need bigger inter-cooler.

-Steering leather started peeling off.

-The hinge cover of both front seat broke. I think they should be designed differently.

General Comments:

Love the car. I will keep it for a long time. Masses of power hidden under the hood. Excellent handling, steering response, and top speed. There are only 4 or 5 vehicles in this country.

2001 Seat Ibiza Cupra 20V 1.8 turbo from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Best bang for your bucks for under 14K

Faults:

Gearbox has failed twice.

Impossible to put into gear.

When the car was left with the dealer, the fault did not show. Dealer has "adjusted" linkages, but says he can find no problems.

Dealer has been very helpful and clearly has taken the problem seriously.

Great performance hatchback.

2001 Seat Ibiza S 1.4 from UK and Ireland

Summary:

A fantastic car for the money

Faults:

Nothing yet. Everything worked from the start.

General Comments:

A fantastic car for the price! Electric everything - front windows, central locking, climate control air conditioning, power steering, and a very good ride and powerful enough engine.

Cabin is comfortable and the plastic looks sturdy. The car feels very solid and looks good.

Only minus point is no alarm system, but it does have an immobiliser.

Hi, I have a 2001 Ibiza S, 1.4. One question, where is the CD changer supposed to located? In the boot?, or the gap under the steering wheel?

Please reply, thanks.

2001 Seat Ibiza Cupra 1.8 20V turbo from UK and Ireland

Summary:

Stop, look, listen. Seat Cupra turbos are the best small fast car available bar the Audi S3

Faults:

None.

General Comments:

This car is fantastic. The quality of the interior and the solid appearance of this car is amazing for the money. With a car this good, it really makes me wonder why companies like Renault, Citroen and Ford are still in business, selling cars more expensive and in my opinion, inferior quality.

I got my car for £11495 with 3500 miles on the clock, from the moment I test drove this car I could not believe the difference in quality from my Saxo VTS. Driving back from the dealership in my Saxo made me feel like a sardine in a tin can. The performance from the 1.8 20 valve turbo engine is out of this world and with companies selling TUV approved chip upgrades for this car, 195bhp is available for £400, and is guaranteed for 3 years and tested to 100,000 miles. The engine is Audi developed and is shared with the TT, S3 and VW Golf 1.8T.

The car turns heads and looks like it costs £18000. Fantastic. I must also mention the amazing dashboard, the best interior I have seen in any car, the large information screen and instruments light up red at night and look amazing, every passenger I have taken begs me for a go!

The only bad thing I can say about this car is that there is not a lot of room in the back, but I don't care at all!!! Brilliant.

Got to agree, superb build, although had a creaky seat early on (dealer sorted this very quickly). Performance is excellent, not a lot to touch it out there unless you're talking Impreza's and the like. Puts it's power down nicely and isn't noisy at all, in fact a little too refined, you can be up way above the speed limit and hardly notice. £13000 for a new one is the best value around, well done SEAT.
