This car is fantastic. The quality of the interior and the solid appearance of this car is amazing for the money. With a car this good, it really makes me wonder why companies like Renault, Citroen and Ford are still in business, selling cars more expensive and in my opinion, inferior quality.
I got my car for £11495 with 3500 miles on the clock, from the moment I test drove this car I could not believe the difference in quality from my Saxo VTS. Driving back from the dealership in my Saxo made me feel like a sardine in a tin can. The performance from the 1.8 20 valve turbo engine is out of this world and with companies selling TUV approved chip upgrades for this car, 195bhp is available for £400, and is guaranteed for 3 years and tested to 100,000 miles. The engine is Audi developed and is shared with the TT, S3 and VW Golf 1.8T.
The car turns heads and looks like it costs £18000. Fantastic. I must also mention the amazing dashboard, the best interior I have seen in any car, the large information screen and instruments light up red at night and look amazing, every passenger I have taken begs me for a go!
The only bad thing I can say about this car is that there is not a lot of room in the back, but I don't care at all!!! Brilliant.
Got to agree, superb build, although had a creaky seat early on (dealer sorted this very quickly). Performance is excellent, not a lot to touch it out there unless you're talking Impreza's and the like. Puts it's power down nicely and isn't noisy at all, in fact a little too refined, you can be up way above the speed limit and hardly notice. £13000 for a new one is the best value around, well done SEAT.
Nice one Seat! Less RRP than a 1.6 Focus Zetec for a complete animal of a car! :)
I have a Black Ibiza Cupra 20vT that I bought a few months ago brand new. I have done 3000 miles in it.
It has been back to the dealer twice, as it has developed some squeaks and rattles but I am getting those sorted as they appear, it is usually just the seals that hold the panels on that are getting dry and need lubrication. Nothing serious though.
I am having problems with my brakes as they have a really bad squeak and whine when braking at low speeds in traffic. Although it doesn't have a deleterious effect on braking performance. I am going to get that sorted in the next week or two.
In terms of performance it is amazing, very quick and has good grunt at low revs although it does bog down and get a bit of turbo lag sometimes when flooring it, but once the lag goes it shoots you off like a bullet from a gun.
I am really interested in getting mine chipped however I was concerned about it invalidating my warranty and causing a problem for servicing, but I really do want it done, so I would be appreciative of any info someone could give me on that matter.
Other than that, a stunning car with good looks and good character for a very reasonable price tag.
I am impressed.
Scooby@scoobster.com (any info on chipping would be appreciated).

Seat cars are good, there's no doubt there, but when have Seat produced a driver's car such as the Ford Puma 1.7???? Modern Fords have superior driving dynamics. People who like driving buy Fords for this reason. Pick up any motoring magazine and they will agree with what I'm saying. However, you do have a point when you speak about VW group build quality.. it's excellent.
Top Car. I've had one for 6 months now and had a 210bhp conversion done after 3 months. It's a really performance car for little money. there may not be much leg room in the back, but spend a bit more money and get the Leon with the same engine, if you need the room.
Oh no, don't even think about the Leon, although your Ibiza is great, the Leon has a lot of build quality issues like leaking doors and dodgy paint jobs.

I have had my cupra for 6 mnths now. I've noticed a problem that comes and goes, occasionally when accelerating hard there is a major flat spot up to about 5ooormp then you can feel it kick in, I've bin back to the dealer and they are sorting it, it's a sensor on the turbo apparently. Anybody else had this problem? But when its running on song its brilliant, car rains class!
The ibiza cupra is awesome. had mine for a month now and it beats everything on the road. the quick shift and engine torque just set it off like a rocket. for the price and what you get from it, definately the best buy on the market.
I have had my Cupra for 3 month now and just can't get enough of it, love the fact that its very quick off the mark, but more than that its great fun! Can't find a single fault with it.

I bought my seat cupra 20vt 2 months ago and haven't been disapointed!
The outside of the car looks great regardless of the color. two things that could of been different could of been the rear lights and the standard r16 alloys. The font lights look excellent almost look like lexus style, the rear lights just look normal compared to the front. The standard alloys that come with the car look dull, but these can be swapped with r17 205 40,giving the car a more sporty look with even lower profile tyers. The inside of the car is perfect, no changes to be made here especially with the glow up red dashboard at night. Performance of the car is awesome, whether your starting off from the traffic lights or doing 70 down the motorway, the car just wants to go!And with the the option to chip the car up to 200bhp for around £400 it can compete with any fast cars on the roads, the likes of civic type r's and subaru's
I bought a Seat Ibiza Cupra (1.8 20VT) about 2 and a half months ago. I can't believe how much car you get for your money. The speed, the reliability, the comfort, the looks, the list just goes on and on.
Two points though, the stereo isn't really all that (compared to the one in my friends Seat Toledo) and I'm not sure that if I change it, will it mess with or damage the main centre computer display and functions. Can anyone help with this one?
Also, the turbo lag is quite bad at times, I've been told this could possibly be rectified by having the car chipped, which isn't that cheap, or by adding a dump valve, but to be completely honest I'm not sure if a dump valve will first of all sort the problem out and secondly would a great big whooshing sound, sound stupid on an Ibiza?
Hi there, I've owned my ibiza cupra for over one year now and iam pleased to say that I absolutely love it. I got the engine remapped by revotechnik and the results where mind blowing! It now pushes 214bhp with 235flb of torque, the 0-60 is neck snapping with a top end speed of 145mph. I've put it to the test against every hot hatch out there even scooby's. its by far the best hatch ever, though brakes and suspension upgrades are a good option too!!
Anyone wishing to put a dump valve on the cupra fit a bailey single piston valve. The same as the golf!!
