I've also heard that the law now means that Dealers HAVE to honour their warranties on cars no matter where they have been looked at.

This has changed very recently, I need to research more, but it could save motorists a LOT of money - Think about an independent servicing outfit?

Hi, independant dealers cannot carry out warranty work, thankfully have sold car now, problems still kept appearing out of warranty.

That is correct, only dealers can carry out warranty work. But what other contributors mean is Seat have to honour the warranty if it has been serviced by an independent dealer using the correct manufacturers parts and service schedule.

So you can take it to Kerbside Autos for its 10, 20, 30, 40k services and as long as they use Seat stuff if anything goes wrong with the car Seat must honour the warranty by law.

I'm interested in buying a Cupra TDI. I have been looking for a while and am in no rush to buy one, but I definitely want one. I currently drive a C2 VTS (company car) and it's killing me on fuel, getting 28mpg. Wondering if anybody can give me any more information than is mentioned earlier as to "how quick it actually is, how it drives, how comfortable it is, etc cheers

CJ.

I had my Cupra TDi for nearly 2 years. Love it.

One thing to note is the ride can be a bit hard, but that suits my driving style.

Also it took a while to get my seat in a comfy position (never touch it now and find the driver seat fine).

I've had no problems and had a Revo remap 5k ago. The car is so much more responsive and delivers power all the way up to the redline with less smoking at very high speeds.

I've overtaken r32s and most things from 60-90mph.

Oh and I get about 45MPG if I'm driving normally. Usually 40MPG, but then again I drive it hard.

I got the car serviced once by Seat and they banged all the paint off the rear caliper.

So never went back!

I'm going to keep hold of my Cupra till it dies. They seem quite rare and I only ever see one other in the Surrey / Guildford area. Nice to be a bit different.
