1996 Toyota 4x4 GX review from Spain
"Best in class"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Our property is 5 kilometers up an extremely bad dirt track with quite deep pot holes and steep inclines, so the suspension takes quite a pounding every day. The only failure has been the anti-roll bar brackets on the lower suspension arm, but the new ones I see are stronger having a larger bracket welded on.
The battery required replacing last year so after 8 years not bad.
General comments?
Overall I could not wish for a more reliable and economical vehicle. It performs well on motorways, is reasonably fast and stable.
The seats are very adaptable folding in several ways with ample carrying capacity.
The dashboard is a little old fashioned and typical Japanese, but functional.
This vehicle has large wheels and tires so the ground clearance is way ahead of most of its competitors, if there are any.
