Faults:

Exhaust tip rusted off and needed to be replaced.

Engine leads needed to be replaced -due to the engine 'missing' and timing was off.

Battery wasn't being recharged so old part was replaced.

CV joints replaced.

General Comments:

Great car, but had a few problems with it - a total of $800Aus has been spent fixing it in the past year.

Nice handling and sweet looks for an older car.

A bit disappointed with the power - only because it's an auto, if you are interested in buying an 88 celica get a manual!

Faults:

The only thing that I had to change was the exhaust. It had holes in it and, I put a performance one on. It cost $200.00.

My seats are not even seats anymore, I'm sitting on springs.

General Comments:

This car is quick off the line, but on the freeway it loses torque. I wish I had an 88 All-Trac.

The handling is alright with stock springs, and shocks.

Faults:

Rust on all fenders and the sun roof.

Brakes and axles needed replacement.

General Comments:

It was my first car and it served me well.

This car had a great acceleration, but didn't have the top end speed I was looking for.

Faults:

A little rust here and there and it was hit on the right front fender.

The exhaust has recently been replaced, but that was for a performance upgrade and not because the OEM was bad.

General Comments:

This car will go forever. I have already upgraded it with a few bolt-on upgrades and it seems to be taking to them well.

I definitely suggest that anyone should purchase this car.

Faults:

First, the car has been in 2 accidents on the front right and left corners, and I run the engine like mad. I never let it shift before 4500, and redline is 6000. The antenna just came loose (not the motor), normal CV joint replacement @ 100K, idle runs low, transmission shifts hard out of 1st when cold, rattles quite a bit. Water pump at 90K. Rotors warped at around 90K as well. Hole in exhaust at 95K. It can easily pull to 150K.

General Comments:

I wish I had a manual transmission because the auto is just a bore to drive. I run the crap out of it, and it doesn't give many problems. The car is very reliable, but rattles quite a bit. Front air dam always scrapes on dips in the road and such. I heard the new Celicas suck.
