Nothing has gone wrong with the car yet. The only thing I can say is that the brakes sometimes squeak on me when I break going really slow. Other than that the car is perfect!
Handle's like mad!!! I love the way the car runs. Very fast for only being a 1.8! Beats an Eclipse or Civic anytime. Believe me, I've done it without any mods to the engine. HA
Hey there... I have a 2001 eclipse and its FAST FAST... thinking of getting a 'yoda celica... what does anyone suggest??I have heard bad things about both!!!
My eclipse has 105000 the clear coats cracked and the resale value sucks... has anyone else had this prob.
My suggestion is the following: Both of you should slow down and please grow-up.
I'll tell this story one more time, I hope it helps.
I had a friend who had a Mustang Mach 1. One night he didn't make a corner at the end of a straightaway.
He hit a huge tree and his Mustang split in half. The front end kept going and wiped out 3 cars on a nearby dealer's lot.
The rear-end remained wrapped around the tree.
When the rescue team arrived they couldn't find my friend,
until they removed the rear-end from the tree. His body was in the trunk. He was 20 years old.
The next morning I drove by the crash-site. The impact was so forceful his music tapes were hanging from the branches of the huge tree he hit. It looked like the tree had been toilet-papered with audio tape.
There was blood, broken glass, shattered plastic and twisted metal everywhere. About 150 feet ahead was a huge hole in the wooden fence at the dealership where his front-end had gone through and wiped out the 3 new cars. I then drove to the place they flat-bedded what was left of his Mustang. I never saw anything so bad. Two crushed and twisted halves of what used to be a car.
The next night I went to my friend's wake. That was in 1974.
I still miss my friend.
True story. Please don't leave your friends with memories like that.
You might think racing is fun and you like the thrill it gives you, but think about all you would miss out on if you ended up like my friend. Also, what if you killed an innocent bystander while you were racing? Don't you think you would carry around an intolerable amount of guilt for the rest of your life?
Your friend was obviously an inexperienced driver and not a very smart driver. There are safe ways to race street cars, both illegaly and legaly. Also, street racing is an adult sport as well as an adolescent sport, so telling someone to grow up is kinda worthless. Sorry about your friend, but that's life, he should have been at a track and not on street he didn't know.
