Faults:

Discharge of the 12V auxiliary battery. This occurs especially if the car is used only for very short urban trips or if accessories are left connected with the engine off, since the service battery is small.

The piano black finish on the center console scratches extremely easily and quickly accumulates fingerprints or dust.

The power steering system requires regular, ongoing inspections.

General Comments:

It has practically nothing in common with the classic Corolla sedan; it looks more like the cousin of a RAV or a Hilux than that of the sedan.

The interior is highly luxurious and comes with every conceivable feature. A standout feature is the next-generation infotainment system; it incorporates an 8-inch touchscreen, without built-in navigation, but offers DAB+ digital radio and wireless Apple CarPlay (Android Auto requires a wired connection). Pairing an iPhone wirelessly is a quick and simple process, and all models include a 12-month subscription to Toyota Connected Services, meaning remote features and data are available via a smartphone app, while inside the cabin, the "Hey Toyota" intelligent voice assistant can be used to adjust the temperature, open the windows, or even find the nearest public restroom.

Build quality and materials are generally solid, featuring a mix of soft-touch and more durable materials, along with piano-black accents. Front-seat comfort is quite good; the seats offer solid support and a wide range of adjustment for the driver, though the passenger seat lacks height adjustment. The steering wheel is appropriately sized, uncluttered regarding multifunction controls, and offers a good range of adjustment.

The engine is a 2.0-liter gasoline hybrid—specifically, an all-wheel-drive version. It is incredibly smooth and performs excellently, in addition to being remarkably fuel-efficient (with consumption of roughly 4.3 to 4.4 L/100 km).

It drives very smoothly and easily, and offers excellent visibility. It is great for long trips, providing truly phenomenal comfort. I am very happy with my Corolla so far; I hope it stays that way.
