1990 Toyota Crown Royal Saloon G 4.0 Litre Quad Cam V8 from Australia and New Zealand

Summary:

The car is a great luxury cruiser

Faults:

Battery was flat when car arrived in Australia because it had sat in a yard in Tokyo for about 2 months.

General Comments:

This model of Toyota was never sold in Australia. It is mechanically similar to the 1990 Lexus LS400. The four litre quad cam V8 is absolutely fantastic. It has very consistent power delivery and it does not make a lot of noise. The 4 speed auto is quite responsive and it doesn't hesitate to kick down a gear or two under hard acceleration. Overall the car is very well made and it has every luxury feature possible. The reclining rear seats are absolutely fantastic. The car also has a TV Satellite navigation, 8 speak sound system with CD Player, electric front seats, fridge on the rear parcel shelf, adjustable air bag suspension, dual zone climate control, digital dash and ABS. Overall I am very happy with the car so far. The car is effortless to drive and it turns a few heads. I would appreciate any feed back from anyone else who has the same vehicle in Australia. me email is cleider18@hotmail.com.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Crown v8,

I am currently looking at purchasing this exact model, wondering what your fuel consumption is like? The motor seems powerful considering the weight of the vehicle. A fantastic VIP cruiser!!

My partner has the 3lt six cyl. version (2JZ) and it too is an awesome luxury cruiser with every conceivable extra. I would very much recommend it. Cruise Control is very accurate and won't let you speed. The 3lt is OK around town, but rather economical on the open road.
