1993 Toyota Landcruiser 4.5L gasoline from North America

Summary:

The most reliable AWD 4x4 SUV available

Faults:

Not much wrong with the vehicle, we purchased it in Colorado and drove it home to Minnesota (880 miles) without any problems. Any issues with the vehicle are simply due to natural wear and tear from the high mileage.

A few small issues: drivers seat belt is a little worn and fraying, power mirrors need some work, little door switches that turn the overhead lights on when you open the door are wearing out (all of which will be fixed very soon).

I must admit, even with nearly 250,000 miles, this vehicle drives like new because it has been so well cared for. I am simply amazed.

General Comments:

Interior is in great shape (cloth interior).

Engine runs perfect.

Transmission shifts perfectly smooth and has no problems.

Brakes are excellent.

Traction in snow/mud is awesome.

Fuel economy is pretty good too (average of 15 MPG while traveling at 75 MPH for 880 miles).

If you take care of these vehicles, they will take care of you.

I may have to buy another one of these for myself (my wife drives this vehicle).

1993 Toyota Landcruiser Land Cruiser II 2.8 TD from Guatemala

Summary:

A definite rock-hopper

Faults:

From the beginning, the car had a screeching noise inside the cabin, which came from one of the hinges in the glove compartment being broken, quickly repaired with an ordinary screw.

Car felt shaky (second use car) when driving on irregular surfaces (even in city), due to front suspension totally damaged. Had to replace entire front suspension, cost approx. 400 USD.

Difficult to start in the mornings, but once engine warm, nothing would stop it.

Major problem was after rebuilding front suspension/axle, during alignment we realized chassis was damaged so vehicle had to be returned to dealer.

General Comments:

This car is a monster, it was definitely built for someone who drives in the mountains on a daily basis, it's quite roomy inside, but when it comes to bad surfaces it will shake your breakfast/lunch/dinner with no mercy. In the end was a good thing that we changed it, since my wife became pregnant, or else she would not be able to ride in it.

Fuel consumption is good, but driving it in open roads can be quite painful if you pay attention to the engine, since it only has 4 gears, but will respond immediately and even ask for a fifth gear, or more if possible.

Unfortunately, due to bad chassis, I did not have the opportunity to test it off road, but I am sure it would have not disappointed me.

1993 Toyota Landcruiser from North America

Summary:

Best all around versatile, dependable vehicle for the money

Faults:

My Land Cruiser has almost 300,000 miles on it and besides regular maintenance, the only repairs have been:

1 faulty fuel injector

Water Pump Replaced

Air Conditioning Compressor Replaced

Radiator Replaced

Left Rear Brake Caliper Replaced.

General Comments:

Bought the vehicle in 94 when it was one year old. Have put over 270,000 miles on it. Have taken it off roading in Moab and other places. Doesn't matter what I do to it, as long as I treat it well w regular maintenance - it just keeps on running strong. Amazing reliability!

Have owned everything from Toyota 4Runner to Mercedes, Porsche and a few others - nothing even comes close to providing an all around dependable, enjoyable, versatile vehicle.

1993 Toyota Landcruiser VX-R 4.5L V6 from United Arab Emirates

Summary:

This car is a reliable, exciting car which will never bore you, I advise it to anyone!!!

Faults:

Driver's window motor crashed at 108900.

2nd and 4th Gear Rotors broke.

Normal Clutch, tires oil change (Very Reliable car)!!!

General Comments:

My Land cruiser is a special edition with a wooden dash, leather seating, limited edition rims and a lot of extras.

It's a powerful reliable and exciting car which will never bore its owner and keep him waiting for the next model to see what it offers.

An advised choice as long as it's a Stick shift as automatic transmissions aren't very powerful and are a bit lame at the dunes.

This car impresses me more and more day by day and I will soon be getting a 2003 Lexus LX470 (Can't wait!!!)
