1990 Toyota Starlet Xli 1.3 12v from Switzerland

Summary:

It will never let you down

Faults:

New starter at 145000 km

New radiator at 155000 km.

The oil consumption is a bit higher than usual, but it does not burn too much.

General Comments:

This is an excellent car for every day use, it's very economical and reliable

It will take you every where you want and will never let you down. The engine is fantastic very supple and has good mid range torque, excellent for town.

This car is very fast compared to other cars of it's category, it will beat a golf gt until 100 km/h or an Audi A3 (1.8 20v), good fun in town or in small roads.

Fuel consumption is peanuts!!

Spares parts are quite expensive, but you rarely need to change parts.

This is a perfect car for those who need a reliable car that will never brake down (it's a Toyota!!), or as a first car!

Car has now 220'000km and the only fault was the vacuum sensor and an exhaust flexble that is fair enough!

It does burns some oil but still runs fine.

The paint has faded but after 18 years, no rust at all!

The most reliable car I've ever owned.

Recommended.
