Since I have had it I have had to replace the brake pads and rotors, an inner coil blew and prevented the car from starting, the shifter sometimes doesn't pop into gear, the brakes slide and don't stop very great if you need to in an emergency, the shocks have never been replaced and just started going bad. The car also does not come standard with a a passenger side mirror and I cannot find one that will fit the car.
It is a pretty fast little car and has bad gas mileage for its size. It doesn't fit bigger people in it well.
Bad gas mileage?
I was told by toyota dealer, my tercel 151000 miles needs a new carb. old carb was set/sealed manf. and can't be adjusted,
need new carb $1800 to pass emissions.
1989 Toyta Tercel 2 dr...137000 miles.. great car, BUT now everyting is going and is very expensive to replace.
My car needs to be fixed, because it's starting to get bad. And, the part alone feel expensive for me. So, I do know what I am going to do.
