I purchased my 2000 VW Jetta - V6 also back in July of 2008. Since then I have has the mass vac system replaced, oxygen sensor, and now the transmission went out. It seems like the week after I got it I have had nothing but issues. I am to having the emissions light and check engine light stay on..

Question to anyone who knows: is it common to replace a transmission with 91k miles and 9 yrs old? Or was it something I did?

I purchased a 2006 Jetta in 2006. I had a trunk light problem 3 months later in which my light would come on and I was unable to open my trunk. The dealer said that it was a malfunction so they replaced the sensor and I still have problems with the light coming on from time to time. It would eventually cut off after a day or two or even 1 hr or two. After that problem, now my headlight sockets are not working properly. I am very disappointed with my jetta I just wish I brought a Honda instead.

I bought a 2003 VW Jetta 2.0 auto at 45000 miles. I now have 75k on it. The only things I've ever had a problem with is headlights and O2 sensors. Headlights used to go about every three months, but I bought Piaa and I've had those in for around 2 years now, and they're still bright and great as ever.

The armrest broke about a month ago, but I went to a junk yard and got one for around 3 bucks. I warn you not to go to the dealer because it's around $150 for it, unless you have the money to blow.

Honestly it's a great running car, and I feel it was worth the money.

I just bought a 2000 Volkswagen Jetta in Feburary with 92,000 miles on it.

A week after I brought it home, the transmission started acting up. I'll be driving and all of a sudden the car won't want to shift and won't go past 30mph. Can anyone tell me what that means?

The cup holder broke, the dashboard compartment hinges broke and so did the arm rest. My passenger window also wouldn't wind back up, and I had to take the door off and put the window back on track.

I love the car, it is wonderful and pretty, but all these problems really aren't worth the hassle.

Can anyone help me? I own a 2001 Volkswagen Jetta, and for some reason I can't accelerate over 80 mph. Once I reach 80 mph, it feels like if I go any faster, my engine is going to blow. My rpms are at about 4000, but it sounds like I'm redlining. Does anyone know what this problem could be?

I just bought a 2000 V6 Volkswagen Jetta from an individual. Since I bought it, the following has occurred:

1. The malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) keeps coming on & never goes off. I took it to Auto Zone & they think a heated oxygen sensor bank needs to be replaced. Can anyone tell me if they had the same problem, how you fixed it & where is the sensor located, so I can fix it?

2. The 2nd problem concerns the radiator. It's engine coolant temperature / level comes on while driving. I have to pull over & turn off the car & let the engine cool down. Any ideas on the cause & how to fix this problem?

I have a VW 2000 VRS Jetta.

The driver's side window is down, the check engine light is always on with a code P1136, the cup holder won't work, emission lights keep coming on when I drive past 40 miles. I need help to solve this problem.
