Excellent review - best I've read here. Can't decide whether to get a sensible D5 or a mad T5 - but this car does seem to offer far superior value than the usual a4/318/c-class bunch, and it looks a stunner too.

I had been looking at a second hand 2002 S60 D5 and read several reviews on this model. But after reading this review and the follow up comments my mind was made up and I'm looking forward to collecting my S60 tomorrow. This was a really good review which was a great help. I will let you know how I get on with my S60 in the New Year.

Very excellent way of defining a Volvo S60. As I am currently driving S60 after Audi A6 1.8T and Mercedes CLK 200, this car satisfies in all ways as it brings together comfort, power, audio and safety in one car.

Superb review and follow-up comments. Just purchased a 90k S60 2.4T (Auto) and I'm delighted with it... blasts my 3 series out of the window for comfort.

I've just picked up a very clean 51 plate S60 2.0T S manual in Maya Gold with 125,000 miles and a full Volvo service history for 2.5k. It drives like a new car - nothing rattles or squeaks, everything works, and the engine still pulls like a train. It needs the bootlid struts replacing and there's a parking bulb failure warning on the dash, but other than that I can find absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's quick, smooth, the suspension is silent, and there's no slack or play in any of the controls. I've driven 40,000 mile cars that feel more tired than this.

Without a doubt the most comfortable car I have ever owned, and best of all I'm getting well over 30 mpg on my commute. Will do a full review when I've had it a while. Gorgeous looking car as well in my opinion, and easily a match for the Germans on quality, and fit and finish.
