I used to drive a Chevy Venture. Sloppy handling, even for a minivan. My 2005 Uplander drives beautiful, even brilliantly, for a minivan. Steering's great as well. Makes me love driving a van.Had to replace rear windshield wiper motor, as it stopped working. Has a 3.5 litre engine. Could use a bit more grunt, though.

I am the owner of a 2006 Uplander. In for it's first maintenance @ 48,500 km (other than oil changes). It only required rear brakes. Usually the fronts go first and then the rears. Brakes are disc on all 4 corners. It is used daily on a 50km commute in Brampton (Toronto area, cold, salt, snow) and has been a perfect vehicle.
You can buy brand new now @ less than $16,000 Canadian dollars. That is entry level pricing for a V6, automatic, air, power windows and mirrors and 7 passenger seating. Gas mileage is also very good for this size vehicle. Great time to buy GM autos. I am very happy with my purchase. Go Ellie go!!!

I have had an Uplander for 5 years. I love it.
Once you start to get into the high mileage (150,000+), the repair bills start. I love the way it drives and handles. No recalls, no major problems.
It's really good in the winter, plows through the snow well. It's too bad they are not making it anymore. I think now you can get some used ones at a great price.
The van has been great and much better quality compared to a caravan in my opinion.

Hello all. I am so happy to have read these comments. I have been contemplating the purchase of this vehicle with all of my research and prayers I have found that it has not ever been recalled, no negative comments to sway a decision and only because of the "ugly duckling" syndrome I have had reservations from the younger members of the family however, safety and quality are my concerns and it just so happens to be in my budget so here goes to the purchase of a Chevy Uplander.
