I have replaced many minor parts like the battery, brakes, tires, cables, alternator, etc. Although this car has an astonishing - 445,114 miles on it as of yesterday. I think that speaks highly of my car. It still drives as strong as when I bought it 10 years ago. This baby just will not die.
I don't push the car hard at all anymore. I treat this ride like a 98 year old man. It deserves respect.
445,114 miles. It still drives just fine. I can't say a word bad about my 1982 Camaro. Yeah sure, I wish the A/C worked. My car is an old man now, but an unbelievably healthy one.
445,114 miles?!
What the frick are you feeding that beast?!
I have a 1982 Chevrolet Camaro Berlinetta nice car has around 190,000 miles, but runs smooth, great car until about a week ago it caught an electrical fire all the wires are gone in the front melted down the distributor needs tons of work everyone tells me to junk it, but I can't it was my first car I'm thinking about fixing back up.
What is your secret!?
Wow, 400000 miles! my dad has never had a car last over 135000 miles on it. It must have a pretty whooped engine though.
The secret to getting 444000 miles on an engine is to own a Chevy.
My Chevy has 400000 miles on her and she has not quit!!
Well 400,000+; Can't say mine has made it that far yet, but she is getting there. I have 367,000 on mine and it still purrs like a kitten. The only thing major I have replaced was the tranny because of worn out lines.
For one who owns a 1991 Camaro RS, I have always thought poorly of the Berlinetta, that is, until now. In light of the information regarding the length of the "life span" of the Berlinetta, I must agree to the quality of the model. It shows the quality of a chevrolet.
Absolutely amazing. I hope to get such longevity out of my camaro- It would be nice to keep it forever.
I have a 1980 Berlinetta. I can't find info on it. I need help. I have a buyer, but my son would like to have it, He'll be driving very soon. Please write in...
I love my 1982 camaro berlinetta new eng/trans
relly fast car.
I was wondering if anyone knew where the line from the vacuum box by the windsheild goes, I know one goes inside to the controls and the other?? I am STUCK! But other than that, I haven't drove the car. I am 17 got it for free needed engine and transmission, I have to put that in.. Most likely this week.. its got T Tops, Iroc (3section) taillights.. instead of the 2 section.. Rear Tinted glass!
I have seen and heard of berlinetta's with ground effects and rear wind Deflectors.. Mine has neither. But, it has power windows, rear hatch, Power Windows, Rear window Defrost, Rear Drum Brakes, Double side Speedometer for MPH and KMPH?? Something like that, it has A/C.. wonder if that works.. I have read that th Berlineta had An AWESOME suspension. And its cheaper on insureance!!? Oh yea.. I am putting a Automatic in.. Turbo700 with a 1971 350 4 bbl 4 bolt main.. the car has no equip. for a standard.. I can drive a stick, but... I can care less for speed.. I like POWER.. I know I will get laughed at! At school anyway.. But I don't care.. Auto cost more than a standard!!!
I hope to hear from someone soon.. Thanks!
I own a 1987 berlinetta and the car has over 300,000 miles and still going! the digital dash has burnt out and the battery, water pump, heater core has been replaced. the car has the 305 v-8, t-tops and power everything. you can't beat that chevy 305. I also own a 1882 sport coupe camaro that has the 305 and its still going. I love to take out the top's and cruise around and if I need the power that 305 will still throw my head back in the seat when I step on the gas.
The secreat to those high miles? The drivetrain-
If it's an 82 berlintina- odds are its got the 2.8 6cyl- the engine is known to run FOREVER even if not with the best perforamnce.
If it's a 305- My grandpa has a 1978 nova that has 203k miles and its got the original block.
But then again- he also has a ford f100 that has made it past the 300k mark. "work van" and it has only has the basic upkeep and the valves replaced once.
Hi everyone my names james and I have a 1982 camaro runs great, anyone looking to buy her! 708 346 0963.
Hey my name is Mike, and I have a 82' Berlinetta its the first car I have ever bought, I bought it from my grandmother and it had 128,000 miles on it, but it had an oil leak on to the manifold and well one day it was hot outside and I just got back from a short errand and well when I parked in the parking lot it started to smoke worse than ever and when I opened the hood my car was on FIRE. The Wires and hoses were all burnt up, but it's a nice car and now I've replaced it all and its working now, but now I have a vacuum hose leak, but other than that I've been trtying to keep all the orginal parts I have new parts on the car, but I kept all the orginal. Does anybody know how to increase the horsepower/speed/longevity/ and quality of my car? just email me at Godgvme@aol.com Thanks Ya'll lata.
