"An indestructible tank on 4 wheels"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The radiator has been replaced 4 times, and the gas tank has been replaced

2 times. The fuel pump has been replaced three times within 2000KMS, but that was when the car was 15 years old. The rear of the car has completely rusted out. That was repaired with a welding job done by my father and a few cans of body filler. The A/C doesn't work.

General comments?

An excellent car. This car was given to me by my father when he came to the realization that the rear frame had rusted out and he wouldn't be able to tow a trailer anymore. The body has actually separated from the frame if you can believe it. That was repaired when my father drilled a hole from the trunk through to the frame and bolted it down with a metal plate and some welding. The car was 14 years old at the time.

It still has most of the original parts on it. Hoses, belts, transmission, engine. The fluid in the transmission is still original.

In terms of repair cost, it has been very cheap to maintain. Gas mileage is not to good. What do you expect from a 5L V8 engine. It hurt my pocket book though. I was a student at the time I got the car.

It still rides smoothly and quietly. I managed to beat my friend in a race. He was driving a Civic Del Sol. The Buick taught him a lesson.

The cabin has all the room you need. My friends like to refer to the back seat as a portable bed. Everyone seems to fall asleep in the back. Lost of space in the front.

It has been with me family for 12 years now and it doesn't look like its going anywhere at the moment. There are too many memories that this car has left me with.

It really sounds like you are quite fond of this car. Why did you say "No" for "Would you buy another car from this manufacturer"? Regardless, it's good to see another young male driver with a taste for GM's big highway cruisers.
