"A high Performance cruiser"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

The car has been very reliable. Other than basic maintenance:

I have rebuilt the engine at 130,000 miles (by choice).

The tranny at 150,000 miles (starting to have problems).

Upped the gear ratio in the rear end at 170,000 miles (needed more torque)

Replaces the interiors carpet and dash.

Seats were worn when I got the car.

New muffler and headers at 180,000 miles.

General comments?

You fit like a glove in these car as long as you are not very tall.

Handles like a dream!

You can get amazing power out of these little cars!

I have nothing bad to report about them except that they are addicting! lol!

In reguards to being tall, I'm 6'3" and the Z's are a good fit. Now mind you I love then as much as you good people so I just may be fooling myself.

I've owned 4, a 240,How I miss her! 2 280ZX, nice, but a bit on the big side.

Yesterday at a gas joint, I saw a 1977 coupe pull up and I spoke with the guy.

Turns out he moving out of state and has a 782/2 that needs a home.

Picking it up in a few hours need tons of work, But so what. LONG LIVE OUR Z CARS!

On the tall comment

there is more room in my 280 than in my 260 and a lot (or at least it seems) more than in either of my 240s.

I just bought 1977 280z california edition for a hundred bucks. I think it needs a new engine or something. If I turn the key it clicks, but does nothing. it needs a new hood and some rims and tires. I also have a 1983 280zx. We just did an engine swap cause one of the rods were blown. Since we replaced the engine.. it will turn over, but it will not start. Can anyone help us?? We miss our our fairladies!!! please!! Deejay.

There is only one bad thing about having a Z car, they are super hard to find parts for. So before you buy one make sure it is good shape and has all working parts. The good thing about them is you can get great power out of them. I just bought one and super charged it and put a cool air intake on it and a dual exhaust and I got 100 more horse power out of it. I have custom rims and GoodYear tires on it. I just put in a sound system and I have 800 watt's going though it. Tt is fast and fun, so enjoy it.

My husband bought a 1977 280Z last year that sat in storage for 20 years and then was sold and say around for another 10 years. He wants to completely restore it and sell it. It has a whopping 28,000 original miles on it. Any one have any ideas how much it would be worth when completely restored (meaning everything from an entirely new fuel system, to a new paint job, new interior and everything)? Please e-mail me Auroradream21@earthlink.net if anyone has any ideas.

I have a 77 z. I am the second owner and have had it for 18 years. It runs great 142000 miles and it still goes over 100 mph (thou sadly not as fast as it used too). I am getting ready to do some work on it. Not sure if I will do some after market parts or keep it original.
