Many many engine problems with gaskets. Constant running warm problem.
Very disappointed with this car considering the price I paid for it.
Looks like you got a bad one my friend because mine has 200,000 on it and it runs like the day I rolled it out of the lot. I have never heard a bad comment made towards this car, until now, so I had to respond. I guarantee you if you were to buy another one you would not have the same problems, you just had a little bit of bad luck.
I've had my Vigor for the past 6 years and never has it given me problems. Perhaps you didn't keep up with the maintenance. I was extremely saddened to see an unhappy person driving a Vigor. Hope you have better luck in the future.
I've had my 92 vigor since June 2000 and so far it's behaving much better than the vehicles I used to own. My front brakes need replacing (my fault) and sounds like the clutch master cylinder is making noise I might have to replace it. The 'check engine' light is on, but that's probably just the Oxygen sensor, other than that it runs fine with over 220,000 kilometers on it. I'm actually thinking of buying a '94 vigor cause I like this one so much.
This car is SHARP! I love driving my brown 2.5 5 speed everywhere I go. I noticed a lot more women look at me more when I'm cruising around. it never gave my friend who I purchased it from any problems. almost all of my friends thought it was a 96-97 when I bought it. all I can say about my car is ''It's an ACURA''
I purchased a '93 Vigor GS in November of 1997 with 70K miles on it. In that past ~3.5 years, I have not performed any significant maintenance on the car except for the expected: tires, brakes and a timing belt. I did have the radiator hoses changes since they were looking dry which to me is no big deal. Also, the check engine light now pops on occasionally. I assume that the O2 sensor is malfunctioning. I now have 117K miles on it. At this rate, I estimate that I can get 3 to 4 more years of service from the Vigor. Unless my needs change, I'll purchase another Vigor (or TL).
I was real unhappy to read this. Because I had purchased a 93 Vigor in May 2001 and it has 87,000 miles and it hasn't given me any problems. I have big plans for my Vigor. The only problems I have had are the front left and right wheel speed sensor's which control the A.B.S. brakes.
I am hurt that there is a person with the best sport luxury car in the world and they are unhappy. I have a 93 GS and I love it, it has not given me any problems. And with it dropped 3 inches it handles like my friend's Civic with a 3,000 dollar suspension kit.
I agree with the original comment - I think the car is poor. It is ludicrously expensive to fix when it falters. I had an Audi before this and it was a far superior vehicle to the '92 Acura Vigor.
I absolutely love my acura, but has anyone had problems with the AC? It seems to have a mind of its own, it works sporadically.
1992 Great car! I had to change out the clutch and the ignition switch. No problems with the AC in all these years.
What were the symptoms that occurred that lead up to the ignition switch replacement. I do not have a complete wiring diagram, but I suspect that I have a bad ignition switch. While cranking the engine, it attempts to start, but dies immediately when the switch is released. It will keep running if you are quick and hold the switch toward the start position as soon as it attempts to start, but not enough to engage the starter.

I was also saddened to read the negative comments on your Vigor - obviously it has been abused in some way. I recently purchased a 1993 GS with 119K kilometers. I have had absolutely no problems what so ever. I take great care of the car and I expect my Vigor to last me a very long time.
I have a 94 Vigor LS with 156K miles. It's been a pleasure to drive since we bought it 3 years ago. Up until today, there haven't been any major repairs. Today, however, I had the problem previously described, whereby the car won't stay running if I release the ignition switch. I just put it in the shop for a diagnostic. The key immediately pops back to the off position, unless I hold it. I pray it's not a MAJOR problem.
I purchased my 92 Vigor six years ago with 35K miles on it. I had given it to my sister who had driven it for three years and performed no maintenance on it except for oil changes, frankly she beat it up! She almost donated it because it was in such bad shape, but I took it back instead. I changed out the bets, replaced all the fluids, and gave it a tune up, and it now runs better then the day I bought it. It is definitely is faster off the line and the transmission is much smoother after the fluid change. The suspension is going, but that's acceptable for a car over ten years old. I think I can get it to 300K miles easily!
I have a 94 vigor. I'am having the same problems with my car, it cranks over, but once I release the key it stalls. Any input will be greatly appreciated.
