"The Silverado is a good, strong, high value truck"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Nothing wrong!

General comments?

The Silverado is very well made: strong structure and refined, efficient V8 engine.

I was concerned about trading my Toyota which served me well, but the Silverado does some things better. First off, the price was MUCH better!

Even though the Silverado is heavier and stronger overall, its gas mileage is best in its category. Seems that the push-rod V8 uses fuel more efficiently. The engine is well proven.

Ride is smooth. Seats are VERY comfortable. The interior is rather spartan, but I rather like the simple appearance and easy of keeping it clean. I did not buy a truck to be a luxury car.

Handling is quite good and the comfort level is very high overall. The level of quietness is surprising!

Transmission shifts smoothly and smartly. Mechanicals work well. Others I know have gone well over 100k miles with very little problems, even some friends who are not known for taking good care of their vehicles.

All things considered, the Silverado appears to be a very good value. Possibly that is why there are so many on the road.

I used to own an 2006 Silverado 1500 crew cab and the ruck was OK. However the interior was extremely cheap and it looked like something from 1996 instead of 2006. I traded the truck in for a Nissan Titan Crew Cab which is a much better truck.

Use to own a 2006 Silverado? You must of really taken a beating at trade in. I have a 2004 Silverado which is great... I recently added the Borla Catback exhaust. If I were to trade as you did for another manufacturer I would go with the Honda Ridgeline. I would give up my car and have one vehicle that does it all. But the reviewer prior is on target. The Silverado is an excellent dependable truck which I would reccomend highly.

My 2005 Silverado is blowing a fuse in the airbags over and over again. Has anyone had this problem?

I have a 2006 Silverado 1500 Z71. Has anyone had a problem with a transmission whine? I love my truck, but the dealer keeps telling me it is a normal noise, I test drove a new one of the line and the noise isn't present in those, just mine I guess.

I have an '04 Silverado and have had no sounds coming from my transmission. From what I know Chevy trucks rarely have any transmission problems. I have also had a 2000 Silverado 2wd and I thought for sure I would burn up the tranny in the Iowa winter snow storms. For 2 years I endured Iowa snow storms with that 2000 2wd Silverado. Finally I got rid of it because it stranded me too many times in the snow. I got a $65 tow/recovery bill to pull the front wheels back over the lip of an asphalt parking lot! But I have learned my lesson and bought an '04 Silverado Z71 which gets around much, much better in winter.

I have had problems with my frontend shaking. I have found out that the front end shakes because the frame is built with some irregularities in the design. nothing can be resolved. chevy says that this particular problem cannot be repaired. So what to do. Anyone else experienced shaking between the speeds of 30-45 miles. It is not suppose to do that. 2006 chevy silverado lt owner. It sucks.
